Sinopsis

From Ayodhya Kand, the tale does start,

Of King Dasharatha’s breaking heart.

For Rama's coronation, the kingdom did cheer,

But Kaikeyi's demand brought a change severe.

To the forest, Rama was sent,

With Sita and Lakshman, in exile they went.

The city of Ayodhya, in sorrow drowned,

As Rama left for the forest ground.

Bharat returned and was deeply pained,

Seeing the throne, he thought profaned.

He sought out Rama, begged him to reign,

But Rama's duty bound him to the plain.

In sandals Bharat took Rama's place,

Ruling Ayodhya with a virtuous grace.

Thus Ayodhya Kand shows devotion so deep,

In every heart, Rama’s ideals we keep.

Thomas Paine was a political activist, theorist, political theorist, and revolutionary who was born in England. Practically each rebel read (or heard to a reading of) his 47-page brochure Good sense, which was proportionally the very popular American title of perpetuity and catalyzed the defiant need for independence from Great Britain. The American Crisis was a pamphlet series that promoted for revolution. Paine spent the most of the 1790s in France, where he ended up being deeply immersed in the Reign of terror. He wrote Rights of Man (1791), which was partially a defense to the challengers of the Reign of terror. In 1792, he was tried and found guilty in England for seditious libel in his lack for his attacks on Anglo-Irish conservative author Edmund Burke.
Thomas Paine has certainly left his mark. He’s become a historical figure worth remembering. Let’s explore more about his life and mission in this book.

In Invisible Intelligence, educationalist, filmmaker and best-selling author Welby Ings considers how schools measure intelligence and shows how narrow definitions of literacy and numeracy can lead to bright students being described as ‘behind’ and positioned as problems, when they are not. Ings mixes poignant, humorous and insightful storytelling with current research to explore the ways that some children’s intelligent approaches to problem-solving are dismissed or ignored, with devastating consequences for individuals and society. Yet Invisible Intelligence offers hope. Written with wisdom, experience and compassion, it is the kind of book that ‘puts an arm around the shoulders’ of those who love and work with kids whose intelligence is not recognised because they don’t learn the same way as other children. Pragmatic, wise and helpful, Invisible Intelligence shows what we can do better in education, and why it’s so important that we do.

The American revolutionaries—George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John and Abigail Adams—called themselves Patriots. But what exactly did it mean to be a Patriot? Historian Amy Watson locates the origins of Patriotism in British politics of the early eighteenth century, showing that the label "Patriot" was first adopted by a network of British politicians with radical ideas about the principles and purpose of the British Empire. The early Patriots' ideological mission was not American independence but, rather, imperial reform: Patriots sought to create a British Empire that was militant, expansionist, confederal, and free.Over the course of the next half century, these British reformers used print media and grassroots mobilization efforts to build an empire-wide political party with adherents in London, Edinburgh, New York City, and the new colony of Georgia. While building this party, the Patriots' advocacy drew Britons into a series of violent political conflicts over taxes and civil liberty, as well as three expansive global wars, the War of Jenkins' Ear (1739–48), the War of the Austrian Succession (1740–48), and the Seven Years' War (1756–63). Patriot ideas and organizations came to divide Britons on increasingly sharp political lines, laying the groundwork for the revolutionary decades to come.
