Sinopsis

Julian never planned to spill the love potion. He only wanted proof that he wasn’t a failed witch that, just once, his spells could do what they were meant to. But one clumsy slip sent the charm flying straight into his sharp-tongued, skeptical neighbor, Elias.

Elias has spent years tucked safely behind his own walls, living in careful detachment. The last thing he expects is to be swept into Julian’s chaos of sputtering spells, rattling cupboards, and cookies that definitely aren’t safe to eat. Still, there’s something about Julian’s messy honesty that pulls at him, leaving Elias to wonder if the warmth building in his chest is enchantment or something real.

As misfires mount and the whole town starts to notice, Julian scrambles to undo what he’s set in motion, terrified he’s stolen Elias’s choice. Yet every disaster drags them closer, turning reluctant teamwork into something harder to name. Trust wavers, walls crack, and the truth waits between them.

Is this bond only the echo of a spell, or the kind of magic that lasts?

Part of the Otherworldly Hearts series, this story brings its own magical twist to love and laughter.

Otherworldly Hearts proves romance can bloom anywhere through time, across magic, even out among the stars. This clean MM romcom series pairs oddball characters with laugh-out-loud disasters and tender connections in worlds where the impossible feels almost ordinary.

Spells backfire, ghosts meddle, shifters wrestle instincts they’d rather ignore, and aliens stumble their way through the messy art of love. Each standalone story mixes comedy, warmth, and a romance that stays sweet but never boring.

Sometimes the strangest places lead to the most unexpected happily ever afters.

It's totally normal for two straight guys to do this when they're alone, right?

That's what I keep telling myself after I meet Reggie. I'm a pro tennis player, and I usually spend my life on the court. But an embarrassing injury in the middle of the US Open sidelined my career, landing me in the hands of my new athletic trainer.

Reggie is a big old jock with an easy smile, and my grumpy butt has never met anyone like him. We start hanging—at the gym and at his place, on the tennis court and out at the bar. I haven't had a real friend in years, and Reggie's big heart warms me deep inside. He finds something I've tried to keep buried, and when we end up sweaty in a hotel bed one night, my world turns upside down.

Then comes the cabin weekend, and all the long massages at the gym . . . Reggie gets his big hands all over me, and I can't stop thinking about him. It's chill, though, because we're a couple of straight guys, and this is just a bromance.

    A sweaty, grunty, sticky bromance.

It can't be more than that, not with my tennis career waiting—and no matter what my heart insists.

Father Paul, a gay priest, reflects on his life while his sister and niece grapple with the life choices they’ve made.
Set in Rome, Cape Cod, and Wisconsin over the course of the summer of 2009 and in Rome during the spring of 1970, The Wanting Life tells the intertwined story of three members of the Novak family: Father Paul, a closeted gay Catholic priest who’s dying of cancer and has secrets he desperately wants to share; Britta, his self-destructive sister and caretaker, who’s struggling to find meaning in a world without her beloved husband; and Maura, Britta’s daughter—a thirty-nine-year-old artist who’s facing a choice between her husband and two children or the man she believes is her one, true love.
Featuring one of most unconventional love stories you’ll read this year, The Wanting Life is both a compulsively readable family drama about the toll that secrets and loyalty can take on us and a gorgeous meditation on the comforts (and limits) of faith and intimacy that calls to mind novels like Marilynne Robinson’s Home, Alice McDermott’s Charming Billy, and Julian Barnes’ The Sense of an Ending.
