Sinopse

In suburban America dreams masked unimaginable nightmares, one man's descent into depravity shocked the world. An American Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Murders by acclaimed investigative journalist Miguel A. Baughman unveils the chilling true crime serial killers saga of Milwaukee's most notorious predator. Drawing from exclusive interviews, court records, and forensic evidence analysis, this gripping narrative dissects the infamous murder cases that spanned over a decade, claiming seventeen lives in a trail of horror.

From Dahmer's troubled childhood trauma effects in Ohio to his military interlude and drift into darkness, Baughman explores the criminal psychology books-worthy mind of a killer who lured victims with promises of companionship, only to subject them to unspeakable acts of cannibalism in history. Witness the Milwaukee horror stories unfold: the botched police investigation techniques, law enforcement failures that allowed him to evade capture, and the survivor escape accounts that finally brought him down. Through victim family testimonies and impact on victim families, readers gain heart-wrenching insights into the lives forever shattered—young men full of promise, reduced to forgotten names in unsolved mysteries resolved too late.

What causes serial killing? How do killers get caught? Why do people commit murder? Baughman probes these FAQs with unflinching detail, examining signs of psychopathic behavior, mental health in criminals, and the dark side of suburbia that enabled such evil. This courtroom drama true stories masterpiece doesn't just recount the facts; it delves into the forensic aftermath, community healing, and lasting reforms that emerged from the ashes.

This page-turner exposes the human monster among us, blending suspenseful storytelling with profound analysis. Discover how one man's reign of terror forever changed true crime investigation—and why understanding the past is key to preventing future atrocities. A must-read for true crime enthusiasts seeking depth beyond the headlines.

The first Christmas sermon preserved in church history was preached by St. John Chrysostom in AD 386, in which he declared, "Behold a new and wonderful mystery!" In this volume, the Christian literary writers of the Chrysostom Society reflect on Advent and Christmastide as a bright and meaningful season of anticipation and glory. Through forty-two readings from the first Sunday of Advent through Epiphany, contributors prepare us in watchful waiting for the coming of Jesus.

George Robert Gissing was born on November 22nd, 1857 in Wakefield, Yorkshire.
He was educated at Back Lane School in Wakefield. Gissing loved school. He was enthusiastic with a thirst for learning and always diligent. By the age of ten he was reading Dickens, a lifelong hero.
In 1872 Gissing won a scholarship to Owens College. Whilst there Gissing worked hard but remained solitary. Unfortunately, he had run short of funds and stole from his fellow students. He was arrested, prosecuted, found guilty, expelled and sentenced to a month's hard labour in 1876.
On release he decided to start over. In September 1876 he travelled to the United States. Here he wrote short stories for the Chicago Tribune and other newspapers. On his return home he was ready for novels.
Gissing self-published his first novel but it failed to sell. His second was acquired but never published. His writing career was static. Something had to change. And it did.
By 1884 The Unclassed was published. Now everything he wrote was published. Both Isabel Clarendon and Demos appeared in 1886. He mined the lives of the working class as diligently as any capitalist.
In 1889 Gissing used the proceeds from the sale of The Nether World to go to Italy. This trip formed the basis for his 1890 work The Emancipated.
Gissing's works began to command higher payments. New Grub Street (1891) brought a fee of £250.
Short stories followed and in 1895, three novellas were published; Eve's Ransom, The Paying Guest and Sleeping Fires. Gissing was careful to keep up with the changing attitudes of his audience.
Unfortunately, he was also diagnosed as suffering from emphysema. The last years of his life were spent as a semi-invalid in France but he continued to write. 1899; The Crown of Life. Our Friend the Charlatan appeared in 1901, followed two years later by The Private Papers of Henry Ryecroft.
George Robert Gissing died aged 46 on December 28th, 1903 after catching a chill on a winter walk.

This book is about communities and cities around the world where people live to very old ages.It is divided into two groups. Those communities who have the longest lived peoples in the world. Lots of lifestyle and diet data is included for them. The second group are another set of communities which have high average ages which people live to but are not quite the outliers that the first group is.I’ve also tried to provide some general lifestyle and diet guidelines to give an idea of why these places are different for longevity purposes. The first four communities were also profiled in my book “Diets and Lifestyles of the World's Oldest Peoples & 32 Longevity Recipes” which goes into lot of details about these four locations including traditional recipes.Overall, I think you will get a better idea of what the reasons are why people live a long time in these locations around the world which may give you ideas about adapting your lifestyle and diets to have maximum longevity.
