Sinopsis

"Aftermath: Reflections on Near-life experiences," by Dr. Michael Roberts, is a collection of poetry that examines the divergence between one's goals, aspirations, hopes, and dreams and the reality of life. This collection examines the "what-if," "if only" and "what might have been" moments that people experience on their human journey. The book consists of unvarnished reminders that the life one has wished for and the life that was lived were sometimes disappointing or fell short of our expectations. The poems recount the quests for interpersonal connection, spiritual relationships, and quests for self-fulfillment that were left unsatisfied. The book was originally inspired by interactions with old friends at reunions or other gatherings, and the resignation with which they often tell their life's stories. The pictures of life we draw in elementary school and hang on the refrigerator may bear little resemblance to portrait that manifests our experiences in older age. Ultimately, the "aftermath" is a testimony to the resourcefulness and resilience of people to prevail over the unexpected and unintended.

When This Is Over is a uniquely personal, theatrical celebration of hope, possibility and imagination. It's about how we can work with chaos, and embrace our collective imagination as we prepare for a deeply uncertain future – together.
Originally conceived by Company Three – and developed alongside more than fifty other youth theatres across the UK – When This Is Over is a play designed to be created and performed by teenage casts, drawing directly on their own life experiences and the stories they want to tell. As with Company Three's widely performed youth-theatre play Brainstorm, the script is a blueprint for an amazing theatrical adventure.
This published edition contains a series of exercises and activities for schools, youth-theatre groups and community companies to create and perform their own unique productions, and also features the complete script of Company Three's version, which was performed at The Yard, London, in 2022.
When This Is Over was named Community Project of the Year at The Stage Awards, and Outstanding Drama Initiative at the Music and Drama Education Awards.

Phantasmagoria, Lewis Carroll's longest poem, was first published by Macmillan and Co., London, in 1869. Written in seven cantos, it tells the tale, in quintains, of a gentleman called Tibbets and his experience conversing with a phantom. This amusing "epic" takes us through their initial fear of each other, a fierce debate over the goings-on of the supernatural world, and finally, to a touching mutual admiration.
