DESCRIPTION:
My Blue Book of Grammar is a course that has been conceptualized and designed keeping in mind the increasingly dynamic role of the English language in today’s world. Especially in our country, where English serves as the lingua franca, a grammar course has to offer not only an exposition of the pedagogy but also the exhibition of the utility of that pedagogy. The aim of a grammar series should be to encourage the development of competency amongst learners, even though their proficiency levels may vary. While the level of exposure to English of all learners may be different, a grammar series should aid in the development of a certain level of confidence amongst the learners, with the end result being that they are able to converse without hesitation in English.

What guy who looked like that and had women tripping over themselves could possibly be gay. But then again, Jason has always been a big tipper… Gavin’s coworker says go for it, but he isn’t the kind of guy to hit on a straight man, especially not at his own coffee shop.

But Jason beats him to the punch. A note slipped into his palm asks for a meeting later that night. A little ice skating, a little dinner, maybe a little fun.

Among the many masterpieces of G.K. Chesterton, The Everlasting Man is his crowning achievement. It was the book that set a young atheist named C.S. Lewis on the path toward Christianity. Evelyn Waugh called it “a permanent monument” that “needs no elucidation.” And its lively prose and compelling defense of Christianity have dazzled readers ever since. But a little elucidation, it turns out, is needed. Chesterton’s presentation of the story of humanity and religion is filled with obscure literary, historical, mythological, philosophical, and theological references—most of which are largely lost on today’s readers. And Chesterton’s paradoxical and apparently wandering style proves, at times, disorienting to newcomers. In this groundbreaking guide—the first of its kind—one of the world’s leading authorities on Chesterton walks readers through the entirety of this great apologist’s text. Complete with an introduction, footnotes, and running commentary, Dale Ahlquist’s tour through Chesterton’s classic will draw new readers into his literary world—and old readers even deeper into his literary genius.

Education: Does God Have an Opinion? is a Scriptural guide designed to help you disciple and educate your children in agreement with God’s Word. Many Christians believe God doesn’t care about how children are schooled or the methods of education that are employed. This book uses the Bible to prove otherwise.

Author and speaker, Israel Wayne, faithfully applies the teaching of Scripture to the issue of education to see what God has to say about this vital topic. Within these pages, Christian parents will find a truly biblical philosophy of education and learn to strategically and systematically apply it to core subjects.

There is almost no topic that is as relevant to the future of Christianity or as controversial as the education of children. Students in school classrooms spend thousands of hours being instructed by people who are not their parents. Truths about God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the inerrancy of the Bible are most often stripped from the curricula used to teach them. The anti-God misinformation campaign of public schools works directly against the faith you are responsible to build into your children’s lives through discipleship. There is almost no way to calculate the power and influence this has on your family and their eternity.

The future of your child’s education and, therefore, his or her life is ultimately in your hands as a parent. Education: Does God Have an Opinion? will give you discernment helping you understand how the One True God sees the issue of education.

Raise kids to be strong, confident, and happy—by parenting the Australian way

Damien Cave and his wife Diana thought they understood what it meant to take risks. As two journalists who traveled the world covering pressing international stories, they were convinced they had seen it all; that is, until they moved to Australia. Suddenly, their kids were being thrown into giant Pacific waves in intensive lifeguard bootcamps, and they were expected to be present and participating instead of obsessing about work or politics. They soon noticed what seemed to be a societal surrender of control to nature and community. In other words? Their American customs were completely disrupted. Living their new beachside life didn't end up being a relaxing retreat, but instead caused a complete reevaluation of the ways they acted as people and parents—and it all had to do with taking unexpected risks and learning how to manage them.

New York Times Australia Bureau Chief Damien Cave delivers an impactful and informative account of how risk taking in parenting, and in all aspects of life, creates happier, healthier individuals and communities. Cave's exploration of Australian parenting culture, through gripping research and storytelling, will have you questioning everything you thought you knew about safety, risk, parenting, and, ultimately, being human.

A fascinating history of how the automotive industry and consumers battled to define what women wanted in a car.

Since the commercial introduction of the automobile, US automakers have always sought women as customers and advertised accordingly. How, then, did car culture become so masculine? In Pink Cars and Pocketbooks, Jessica Brockmole shares the untold history of women's relationship with automobiles: a journey marked by struggle, empowerment, and the relentless pursuit of independence.

This groundbreaking work explores the evolution of women's automotive participation and the cultural shifts that have redefined their roles as drivers, mechanics, and consumers. Brockmole traces the rise of gendered marketing of automobiles over the course of the twentieth century. Auto companies created ads that conformed to commonly held ideas about women's relationships with automobiles. As the century progressed, marketing to women became less informative and even more gendered: the automotive industry portrayed women as passengers, props, or reluctant drivers, interested primarily in aesthetics. And yet, by the 1970s, female drivers were communicating directly with each other, forming clubs, and teaching each other through women-focused repair manuals.

By examining market research studies, advertising archives, trade journals, women's magazines, newspapers, driving handbooks, and repair manuals, this book shows how women bought their way into the automobile and masculine car culture. Brockmole uncovers the stories of pioneering women who defied conventions, such as trailblazer Alice Ramsey, the first woman to drive across the United States in 1909, and Barb Wyatt, whose contributions to automotive manuals broke new ground. Women have always been users of technology, and this book illustrates how the auto industry evolved—as well as how it chose not to evolve—in response.
