How to Live an Optimal Life

Many people speak about their problems in life. In fact, this is one of the hottest topics of conversations. It doesn't really matter where you meet someone, all it takes is a friendly smile to start pouring out your life's woes to them. Everyone does the same. The result is that no one really knows how happy one is. Since everyone is talking about their miseries, it does seem that no one around is leading an optimal life. This is where the problem lies.
We think that the term 'optimal life' should have a definition. We think that we should be able to peg down someone's life entirely and say, "Ah, now his is an optimal life!" But it doesn't happen that way. You might think that someone with a lot of money or someone with a beautiful wife must have an optimal life. But when you get to know them better, you begin to see the problems that lie behind the exterior façade of theirs and you realize that their life is not what you thought it to be.
There's a great saying that "If everyone were to throw their problems in a pile, and see everyone else's, they would grab their own right back". This is true. We think the neighbours are always happier than we are. We think they are leading a more optimal life than we are. But if we were really to sit down and make comparisons, quite likely, we would find our problems to be the least. So, where are we heading with this? The point here is that our lives are only as optimal as we want them to be. We have it entirely in our hands how beautiful we want to make our lives. If we want to sit and brood that life is toying with us in every way possible, it is. But if we plan to take things in our hands and not let life jerk us around, it won't.
We have to plan just how much control we want to give our lives. An optimal life is a very individualistic thing. For us, an optimal life would be one in which we are completely contented and satisfied with whatever we have.

It is hard to imagine that the busy townscape of South London was once a great wood, stretching almost seven miles from Croydon to Deptford or that, scattered through the suburbs, from Dulwich to Norwood, a number of oak woodlands have survived since before the Norman Conquest. These woods were intensively managed for a thousand years, providing timber for construction, furniture and shipbuilding, and charcoal for London's blacksmiths, kilns and bakeries. Now they afford important green space, a vital habitat for small mammals, birds and insects.Drawing on a wealth of documents, historic maps and environmental evidence, The Wood That Built London charts the fortunes of the North Wood from its earliest times: its ecology, ownership, management, and the gradual encroachment of the metropolis.

This is hands down the most controversial yet humorous book that will ever read on the subject of women who think and act like bitches. I am a woman myself so before you hastily jump to the conclusion that this book is some sort of misogynist rant about women rest assured that it is not. Instead it is a close examination of what you probably already know that women can be bitches.
In fact, there are many different types of bitches that exist in the world today. In this particular book I’ve have identified 20 such types and I discuss them in great detail. Some of the types you may be familiar with and others you may not be however, I’m almost certain that you have encountered at least one or two of these types of bitches in your life or perhaps you may even be one of them yourself. Nonetheless, strap yourself in and be prepared to be entertained and educated about the 20 types of bitches that exist in the world.

The #1 New York Times–bestselling author of Please Don’t Eat the Daisies offers another hilarious look at home life, show business, and more. Jean Kerr played many roles in her life, from exasperated mother to Broadway playwright and keen observer of mid-twentieth century suburbia. She also became one of America’s most beloved humorists by sharing her insights and anecdotes in a series of popular newspaper columns. In The Snake Has All the Lines, Kerr explores topics ranging from family vacations and modern convenience to the trials and tribulations of opening a new play. With her inimitable wit, she reminds us that while life may be a day at the beach, a day at the beach with small children can have you questioning your life choices in no time.
