  Hey, there word nerd. Thank you for getting a copy of “Big & Fancy Words That Might Make you Smarter…er: A Vocabulary Builder for the Lexical Deficient Interlocutor Albeit Soon To Be Supercilious Smarty Pants Confabulator” wow… that's a long title. So basically this audiobook has a lot of highfalutin, big shot, 52 cent words that are not used that often in normal conversations, (or are they) once you learn them you will start to hear and see them all the time in books, movies, and when eavesdropping on peoples conversations. This audiobook comes complete with 366 words, for every day of the year (plus one extra word for leap year ) its word type, its definitions, and a funny example sentence that hopefully gives you a little chuckle and helps you to remember that particular word more easily. These words are a great way to build up your vocabulary, study for the SATs, gain skills for word games and crossword puzzles or just be the pompous know-it-all at the pub, (I mean the well-read and articulate conversationalist at a dinner party). Whatever your wish to have a larger knowledge of words is, this is a good place to start; so put on those headphones, throw in the 8 track, cassette, cd, or whatever listening device the kids use these days, and listen to this audiobook in your car, on your cell phone while at work when the boss is not looking, while cleaning the house, or before you go to bed at night, and in time, you too, might just become one of the great dialogists. What’s that? A doctor, a scientist?  Nope, but you will find out soon enough after you hit play. So happy listening and I hope you gain a plenitude of verbal cognizance and that you don’t take umbrage with this recording and start pontificating which leads to being allocated to the nearest hoosegow.

  Slavic mythology is a rich and complex tradition that has been shaped by centuries of oral storytelling, cultural exchanges, and historical transformations. Rooted in the beliefs of ancient Slavic tribes, this mythology reflects a deep connection to nature, a reverence for powerful deities, and a world teeming with spirits, gods, and legendary heroes. Unlike the more widely documented mythologies of the Greeks and Romans, Slavic myths were primarily passed down through oral tradition, making them fluid and ever-evolving. As a result, variations exist across different Slavic nations, yet common themes and figures remain central to the mythology as a whole.  
  The natural world played a crucial role in shaping Slavic beliefs. The Slavs were deeply tied to the cycles of the seasons, the power of the sun, and the mysteries of the forests and rivers. Deities like Perun, the god of thunder, and Veles, the god of the underworld, represented the dual forces of order and chaos, life and death. Forest spirits like the Leshy guarded the woods, while the Rusalka, eerie water nymphs, were believed to lure unsuspecting travelers to a watery grave. These myths not only explained the forces of nature but also provided a spiritual framework for daily life.  
  Storytelling was the primary means of preserving these myths. Legends were shared around fires, during village gatherings, and at seasonal festivals. Oral tradition allowed for constant reinterpretation, with each storyteller adding new details to fit the cultural and historical context of their time. Folklore heroes, such as Ilya Muromets and Dobrynya Nikitich, emerged as symbols of courage and perseverance, their tales reinforcing the values of strength, loyalty, and wisdom. These stories also carried moral lessons, cautioning against greed, deceit, and disrespect for the natural and supernatural world.

  We broke our new series on learning Hungarian down into different learning stages. Start with the “Lower Beginner” books followed by the “Beginner” and “Upper Beginner” books. Next, progress to the “Intermediate” series, then test and reinforce your knowledge with the “Conversations” series.  
  This audiobook is divided into units.While it provides different learning patterns and accommodates various needs, this audiobook focuses on helping you improve your ability to understand, speak, and memorise Hungarian. The sample will give you a taste of what you can look forward to.  
  In Unit 1 you will hear Hungarian decoded with each syllable spoken very slowly and clearly with repetition. Immediately before each sentence is spoken, you will hear the translation, so you will always understand what is being said. Unit 2 focuses solely on increasing your listening ability, which will improve your abilities to engage in dialogue with a native Hungarian speaker. This chapter requires you to listen very carefully to nuances in the language.  
  By Unit 3 you will already notice progress in your abilities to speak and understand Hungarian. The spoken translation is followed by two repetitions in Hungarian at a completely natural speed. While you are learning to process naturally spoken Hungarian, Units 3 and 4 will help you memorise new vocabulary and full sentences. In Unit 5 you can test yourself on how much you have learned. If you are having difficulties, we suggest you revisit the listening, speaking, or memorisation section of Units 1, 2 3 or 4, according to what you need more help with.
