'There's no other place I'd rather have begun, no other place I ever wanted to reach. This is my story.'
The first autobiography from legendary Welsh rugby player George North.
George North is a true legend of Welsh rugby, an integral part of the national team for fourteen years.
Recently retired from the international game, he is the third-most-capped player in Welsh history with 121 Test appearances, the youngest player ever to reach 100 caps, and the second-highest try scorer with 47.
At club level, he has played for the Scarlets, Northampton and Ospreys, and latterly Provence in France.
North is open, charismatic, thoughtful but hugely competitive, and this is the first time he has reflected on his extraordinary career. Co-written with the brilliant sportswriter Tom Fordyce, this autobiography is an utterly compelling and enthralling retrospective, taking in George’s life growing up in Anglesey on the North Welsh coast, before he burst onto the scene when he became the youngest player ever to score a try on his debut aged just 18.
Full of heart and passion, George’s story is a uniquely inspirational insight into the art, mastery and sheer force of the game of rugby.
The perfect gift for rugby fans this Christmas.
In this memoir, North not only shares his journey as a top player in the rugby world, but also provides a cultural insight into the sport that has shaped his life. His experiences, from his regional beginnings in Anglesey to his latest achievements on the international stage, are recounted with a raw and captivating honesty.

'I'm okay!' The bestselling author of The Anti-Cool Girl returns with a devastating, heartbreaking, brilliant, brave and laugh-out-loud funny memoir of telling lies and being on the brink...

'I had made it! All my dreams had come true. I had an operating fridge, I was doing brilliantly, and I had written the memoir to prove it. I even had online haters. I had conquered life at 30 and nothing was ever going to go wrong again!' It was all going so well for Rosie Waterland. Until it wasn't. Until, shockingly, something awful happened and Rosie went into agonising free fall. Until late one evening she found herself in a hospital emergency bed, trembling and hooked to a drip. Over the course of that long, painful night, she kept thinking about how ironic it was, that right in the middle of writing a book about lies, she'd ended up telling the most significant lie of all.A raw, beautiful, sad, shocking - and very, very funny - memoir of all the lies we tell others and the lies we tell ourselves.
    Praise for The Anti-Cool Girl:
'Hilarious, wise, gutsy, clear-eyed, devastating and uplifting. It's a marvel.' Richard Glover
'Waterland's writing is ... individual, wounded, brilliant and hilarious' Sydney Morning Herald
'If Augusten Burroughs and Lena Dunham abandoned their child in an Australian housing estate, she'd write this heartbreaking, hilarious book.' Dominic Knight, The Chaser
The Anti-Cool Girl was shortlisted for the 2016 Indie Book Awards and for the 2016 ABIA Awards for Biography of the Year, and in addition was the Winner of the 2016 ABIA Awards People's Choice for the Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year

In this vulnerable and enlightening book of life lessons, globally renowned performer Cynthia Erivo draws from her singular experience to show us how to embrace being “too much” and to live up to the fullest iteration of ourselves. This program is read by the author. It is never too late to build the life you’re seeking.Cynthia Erivo learned the music to Wicked a decade before she needed it, not knowing those same lyrics would change her life. Now she has performed those songs on the world stage, showing us there is always time to keep discovering ourselves. And to illustrate that it’s often the parts of ourselves we are told to bury that make us shine. In a series of powerful, personal vignettes, Cynthia reflects on the ways she has grown as an actor and human and the practices she’s learned over years of performing and reminds us all we are capable of so much more than we think. We all have hopes and dreams that we want to bring across the finish line. We all falter and take missteps. In this book, Cynthia draws from her experiences running marathons, both real and metaphorical, onstage and onscreen, to show how each challenge can help us. She urges listeners to lean into the wisdom of their bodies, to understand and strive for a physical and mental balance. Because when we chase our deepest desires, each small step leads us closer to where we want to go."Cynthia Erivo is monumentally talented and impressive...her speaking voice is as mellifluous as her singing voice, and there are moments of genuine realness..." — Vulture "The Broadway star's singular talents make her an obviously superb narrator."—Booklist"With her performance skills and melodic voice, [Narrator Cynthia] Erivo captures listeners' attention and leaves them feeling inspired to be themselves. In many ways, Charles Lindbergh represented the best and worst of America during the first half of the 20th century. Lindbergh became famous for being an aviation pioneer whose solo flight across the Atlantic captured the imagination of an entire world, yet he was an isolationist who wanted to keep American freedoms safe for Americans and no one else. Lindbergh was the quintessential family man, yet he fathered illegitimate children and suffered an unspeakable tragedy that became known as “The Crime of the Century.” Lindbergh embodied some of his era’s greatest virtues and harbored some of its worst prejudices.
Lindbergh was a 25 year old U.S. Air Mail pilot who was probably best known for two crashes before shooting to fame with his non-stop flight across the Atlantic from New York City to Paris on May 20-21, 1927. Lindbergh was Time Magazine’s first Man of the Year in 1927, and he used his newfound fame to promote the development of commercial flight and become a spokesman and symbol for advances in aviation.
In 1928, Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, but she was disappointed that she had to do so as a passenger, complaining, “I was just baggage, like a sack of potatoes.” But by the mid-1930s, Earhart had set a multitude of altitude and distance records, but she wanted to attempt a circumnavigation of the world. After an ill-fated first attempt, Earhart and Fred Noonan set off on another attempt, creating one of the 20th century’s most enduring mysteries. Earhart and Noonan were to land on Howland Island, 1700 miles southwest of Hawaii, but radio transmissions ceased between the plane and authorities on the ground the morning of July 2, 1937. Earhart and Noonan had disappeared, never to be seen again, despite one of the nation’s largest and costliest manhunts to date.
The speculation over exactly what happened to Earhart and the mystery of her disappearance remain.
