Summary

In the quaint town of Huntly, a moonlit ritual is observed by a Professor of Anthropology from a prestigious London university. Protected by the cover of darkness, he believes he is safe from prying eyes. But those involved in the spectacle are not ordinary creatures, and their senses are more acute than he has given them credit for.

Unsatisfied with the response from the local police force, Jenna Wilkinson arrives in Huntly to search for her missing uncle. There, she meets the Detective Constable in charge of the case, Alan Young, and together they set about trying to uncover the professor's disappearance.

One by one, more victims follow, and they'll have to put aside their beliefs and superstitions to save the town. But can they escape a fate worse than death?

Where there is good there is Evil. Whether you buy into that or not it makes for excellent literature. Authors have always explored the subject with abandon, able to unleash dark fears from the page without summoning them into reality or hearing them in withering hegemonic tones from the pulpit at our local church.

Our fear of the Devil, whatever his temptations and rewards, is amplified by the thought of eternal damnation in his hell house service.

In this volume our authors are all from Europe and see the Devil in ways that we recognise and yet are culturally distinct to the European mainland.
