Sinopsis

The author has taken a serious subject in the history of Ireland and as always masterfully presented it in a funny, ironic and entertaining way. This historical novel is a story of four generations of Rackrent heirs told in the voice of their longtime steward, Thady Quirk. The story gives us a satirical view of the decline and fall of a noble Irish house into poverty through drinking, extravagant living and a wild passion for loosing cases at law. Through the stories of different generations of the same family, each presents an example of the irresponsible Irish gentry.

“One of the nation’s most prominent civil rights leaders” (Washington Post), a New York Times bestselling author, community organizer, investigative journalist, Ivy League professor, and former head of the NAACP, Ben Jealous draws from a life lived on America’s racial fault line to deliver a series of gripping and lively parables that call on each of us to reconcile, heal, and work fearlessly to make America one nation.
Never Forget Our People Were Always Free illuminates for each of us how the path to healing America’s broken heart starts with each of us having the courage to heal our own.The son of parents who had to leave Maryland because their cross-racial marriage was illegal, Ben Jealous’ lively, courageous and empathetic storytelling calls on every American to look past deeply-cut divisions and recognize we are all in the same boat now. Along the way Jealous grapples with hidden American mysteries, including:Why do white men die from suicide more often than black men die from murder? How did racial profiling kill an American president? What happens when a Ku Klux Klansman wrestles with what Jesus actually said? How did Dave Chappelle know the DC Snipers were Black? Why shouldn't the civil rights movement give up on rednecks? When is what we have collectively forgotten about race more important than what we actually know? What do the most indecipherable things our elders say tell us about ourselves?
Told as a series of parables, Never Forget Our People Were Always Free features intimate glimpses of political, and faith leaders as different as Jack Kemp, Stacey Abrams, and the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu and heroes as unlikely as a retired constable, a female pirate from Madagascar, a long lost Irishman, a death row inmate, and a man with a confederate flag over his heart.
More than anything, Never Forget Our People Were Always Free offers readers hope America’s oldest wounds can heal and her oldest divisions be overcome.

Extensively researched, it takes readers behind the scenes into the delicate negotiations that led to the formation of the UAE in 1971, and the gradual consolidation of the union that occurred in the often turbulent decades that followed the country’s founding. It also examines Sheikh Zayed’s responses to several major world events, including the British withdrawal from the Gulf in 1971, the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s, the first Gulf War in 1991, the Iraq War in 2003, and the 9/11 terror attacks.
The Wayfinder provides new insights into the life and legacy of one of the most transformative yet historically overlooked political leaders of the 20th century, whose words and actions continue to have a lasting influence on the UAE, its leaders and its people.

Across the world people are paralysed, abducted, abused and terrorised. Landscapes are burned and scarred. Towns are closed down, radio stations threatened and lies are spread. Why? Because our governments are covering up the greatest of secrets. The aliens are here. They are contacting us and even abducting us.

Our secretive military and inner-governments know what is happening and they are hiding it from us. They close down every site, cordon off, recover technology and corpses and then cover-up. They have been doing so for decades and we are being fooled.

This is the story of alien contact from across the globe. This is the tale of how aliens have infiltrated our very governments who work with them to hide the secrets. This is the amazing truth about alien contact and abduction.

"The Capture of Iwo Jima: Amphibious Operations: 16 February to 16 March 1945," provides a comprehensive and detailed account of one of World War II's most pivotal and brutal battles. The book meticulously describes the planning and execution of the amphibious assault on Iwo Jima, initiated on 16 February 1945. It details the massive preparatory bombardment of the island and the challenges faced by the American forces due to the well-entrenched Japanese defenses. Concluding with the capture of the island on 16 March 1945, the book underscores the strategic significance of the battle in the broader context of the Pacific War. It also pays tribute to the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of the American forces, particularly the Marines, who endured one of the bloodiest battles in U.S. military history.
