Summary

Ra, the Sun God, had the Universe at his command. He inherited the extreme power of his father, Atum, the deity that created itself. From Ra's incandescent rays are born his brother-children, from whom he takes the most graceful of beauties to wife - Nut, Goddess of the Sky. Nut, however, would be the harbinger of doom. Dominated by an irrepressible passion, she surrenders to Geb, the God of the Earth, also the brother-son of Ra. Taken by fury, Ra condemns Geb to eternal darkness. With the seclusion of Geb, the great protector of the land, the world becomes dark, a place of barbarism and chaos. Osiris is one of the children of Geb and Nut, cast into the desolate land, cursed to suffer in frail human form and taste the evils and pains of the flesh. But the misfortune of the lovers Nut and Geb would propitiate the coming of the Messiah, the noble Osiris, king of Egypt. In this adventure about the history of the first kingdom on Earth, Marcelo Hipólito rescues the legends and traditions of Ancient Egypt.

    The shadows have eyes.
Returning to Luma after being promised their records would be wiped clean had been a no-brainer for Harlow and company. Especially when the only requirement for hub society reintegration was to meet with Sorceress Rhiannon at the Collective’s Tower to share intel about vampires, ferals, and Lachlan Shade’s potential master plan. Yet within minutes of crossing the veil, Rhiannon postpones their appointment due to a brewing faction war among the sorcerers. This welcome reprieve is dampened by a pack of werecats barricading Harlow, Caspian, Camila, and the sword in Caspian’s house until the foursome is given the all-clear to visit the Tower.
Worried their side won’t win the war—thereby landing Harlow and Caspian back on Luma’s Most Wanted list—the pair is determined to prove they’re worth more to the Collective outside a jail cell. They believe the key to the worrying surge in portal activity and a window into Lachlan’s schemes both lie somewhere near Lake Nacimiento—the same lake connected to the sword’s dormant twin.
Their impending escape only grows more complicated when Zander Welsh drops the bomb that his days-old bite from a hybrid is infected. Rumors are already swirling that hybrid vampire bites have begun turning fae—a feat previously thought impossible. In the rare instances that a fae survives the transition, their magic mutates into something unholy. Harlow and Caspian must find a cure for Welsh’s blood-poison before it kills him—or, perhaps worse, turns him into a monster unable to discern friend from foe.

Dave Wilson could quite possibly be the world’s most frustrated husband. Ever since his wife Annie was promoted to Chief Operations Officer at SM Global, with a salary of more than a half-million dollars a year, she's become even bossier and more demanding at home than usual. Worse, the busier she gets, the less time and interest she has in sex.

He really should say something. But how can any man presume to make demands on a woman who’s now earning five times his salary?

But all that changes when he and Annie are called in to a meeting with the company VP Blair Stevenson. This cold, hard-driving young executive has some disturbing news for Annie. Ever since she started her new position, she's been overstepping her job description by trying to fix, remake, and undo everything she finds fault with

Well, Blair is having none of that! He informs Annie that if she wants to keep her job, she must be punished. And the method of punishment he's chosen is an over-the-knee spanking!

Annie is mortified--not to mention humiliated out of her mind.

And that's not the worst part. Following her spanking, Annie is informed that she is also in need of "training" in the art of following orders. And, given Blair's penchant for all things sleazy, one can only assume that these will bring Annie to a whole new level of humiliation!

Still, no matter how harrowing of an experience Annie is having, Dave is head-over-heels turned on by the spectacle playing out before him. On the one hand, he loves seeing Annie finally following orders from a man. But on the other hand, he simply can’t get over the fact that Annie is doing anything and everything Blair tells her to do!

Well, Dave is having none of that! He has no choice but to even the score. But he’d better be careful because, with what he has in mind, Annie just might find the whole thing even more mind-blowing than what Blair has just put her through!
