Many plants are toxic to humans, although some contain ingredients which can be made into medicines. This book surveys over 600 plant species which were compiled into a comprehensive data-base, from which tables were constructed in the book for easy reference. Common names are given against their Botanical names. Flowers were grouped by their petal numbers. The use of each plant was recorded: is it edible, does it have health benefits, is it toxic? A very useful compendium of plant species for all plant lovers. The book is illustrated with numerous colour images of various flowers and plants.

When measuring how galaxies moved relative to one another, it became clear that some unseen force was pushing space apart, causing the universe to expand at an accelerating rate. This discovery, first confirmed through the study of distant supernovae, was not just unexpected—it was revolutionary. To account for this repulsive force, scientists introduced the idea of dark energy, an unknown form of energy permeating space and counteracting gravity on the largest scales.
