Don't Worry BEE HAPPY! Start your Bee colony today !
There are 140,000 beekeepers in the United States keeping 3.2 million beehives. American beekeepers produced 200 million pounds of honey a year. In addition, honey bees pollinate and make possible many of the fruits and vegetables that make up the American diet. In fact, the annual contribution of honey bees to crop pollination and production is over nine billion dollars. But to tell the truth, these are not the reasons why many beekeepers have kept bees. Most keep bees because they enjoy the outdoors. They enjoy helping a young colony grow in spring. They enjoy watching the bees make honey. They enjoy harvesting, bottling, and selling honey as well. If you raise animals or work with wood, grow a garden or have an entrepreneurial spirit, you might be a candidate for beekeeping. You'd be surprised at how gentle they can be, and of the many places where you can keep bees. We'll go ahead and discuss the basics of backyard beekeeping. As an example, we'll set up ten bee hives from scratch--that is with packages of bees in the mail, just like what veteran beekeepers did when they were starting out. Many of us spend a great deal of our time dreaming about our next trip to the mountains, whether for a weekend getaway or our yearly vacation. We hear within that deep inexplicable pull toward the wilderness and would agree with John Muir, who said: "The mountains are calling and I must go." We sense that in the wild we are touching the edge of something that is both wonderful and mysterious.
In this book Erik Stensland, a professional landscape photographer based in Estes Park, Colorado, explores this longing we have for the wilderness and suggests that it is the trailhead for a journey to wholeness. Through short daily reflections on the natural world paired with his gorgeous photos from Rocky Mountain National Park, he encourages us to go deeper within ourselves and discover the healing that nature is offering.

    POKER MATH - Mastering the...

In the game of poker, the two most fundamental mathematical ideas are known as probability and odds. Players who have a solid grasp of these ideas will be more equipped to make intelligent choices while competing. The possibility that an event will take place is referred to as its probability, and odds are defined as the proportion of the probability that an event will take place relative to the probability that it will not take place.
When playing poker, players must determine their odds and calculate probability in order to determine whether or not they will win a hand. For instance, a player who already has a pair of aces has a 4.2% chance of hitting another ace on the flop, turn, or river of the hand they are playing. The odds of getting another ace are 22.5 to 1, which indicates that a player will get another ace once for every 23 times they have a pair of aces. In other words, the odds of getting another ace are 1 in 23.
Players are able to make better decisions at the table by improving their ability to calculate odds and probabilities. If a player has a flush draw, for instance, they can determine their chances of getting a flush by counting the number of cards that are still in the deck that will complete their flush. This allows them to calculate their odds of hitting a flush. On the turn or the river, the player has a 19.1% probability of hitting their flush if there are nine cards left in the deck that will complete the flush.
Another essential idea in poker mathematics is the concept of expected value, abbreviated EV. The expected value, or EV, of a bet is the amount of money that a player can anticipate winning or losing on average over the course of a long session.
