Sinopse

Ten years ago the prosperous kingdom of Hundiriik fell. Not by war, famine, or tyranny. Betrayal and fanaticism crippled the Royal City, but dark, forbidden magic delivered the killing blow with a hateful curse.

Seeking revenge on the royal family after almost being eradicated a century ago, the blood cult Leselus Dusang unleashed a great beast of myth and legend upon Hundiriik. Havoc, terror, and death followed in the curse's wake. The surviving citizens fled the Royal City, abandoning their homes and land to the monster trapped within.

Michael Imitar, a mage of The Blood and stepbrother to the crown prince, was the last to escape the city with his life, forced to leave behind the man he loves. He vowed to one day return to end this nightmare. Now, after a decade of searching the known world for means to break the curse, he has come home, ready to slay the beast and free his lover from his torment, even if it means he will have to lose Percy to save him.

"When you are a kid and you think about what your life is going to be, when you imagine what you'll become and the person you are going to marry, you don't wish for just good, no, you wish for more. And, sure, you don't always get that, after all, you grow up and find out that nothing, not even 'just good' comes as easily as you have expected it to, but still, that one person, that 'the one' should make you feel extraordinary, even if your life is anything but."
    Summary:
    When love shatters, what remains?
George’s world crumbles the day his husband walks away, leaving him with a broken heart and a son to raise. He pours himself into his art, convinced that love is nothing more than a beautiful illusion—one he will never fall for again.
    But fate has other plans.
When a man from his past unexpectedly reappears, old memories and unresolved emotions resurface, challenging the walls George has built around his heart.
Told through two intertwining timelines, past and present, 'George' is a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the question that lingers: Can we ever truly begin again?

    HIL
As I pull into Snow Tip Falls, there was nothing about it that made me want to stay. It’s a beautiful small town, but if you stop running, your problems have a way of catching up with you.
But then tragedy strikes, and suddenly I find myself wanting to help. And when the person needing help is a chiseled football player with brooding eyes, dimples, and an endless desire to protect me, I’m reminded of the other purpose of my trip, to have a one night stand that finally rids me of my gay v-card.
I know why I haven’t lost it yet. Guys confuse me. Cali isn’t confusing, mostly because he doesn’t say much. Maybe he’ll be the one. And if I get his rippling, jock body wrapped around me, it will totally be worth the heart break that will follow when he finds out who I am and what I’ve done.
    CALI
You know how some people are rays of sunshine that light up a room? That’s Hil. Man, it’s annoying. Annoying or not, it’s not like I can refuse his offer of help if I want to stay in university, or on the football team.
It’s not that he’s hard to look at. That guy makes me think dirty thoughts.
And, it’s not like he isn’t the sweetest, kindest guy I’ve ever met…
Wait, am I falling for the stranger who showed up out of nowhere wanting to fix my life?
There’s a reason I like to keep to myself. And as hot as Hil is, I’m not sure my heart can take being hurt again.

An intimate, captivating first novel that tells the story of a family in southern France whose lives are intertwined with the history of the AIDS crisis—and with the forgotten French doctors who are among the first to detect the virus. It’s 1981. As a wave of mysterious infections sweeps across the United States, a doctor in Paris encounters something unexpected: a case of a disease long thought to have been eradicated. It matches what is happening across the Atlantic—and thus begins a race to make sense of a deadly virus, one that will define a generation.Miles away, in rural France, Anthony Passeron’s family is dealing with a crisis of their own. Their small village is gripped by another epidemic: heroin addiction. Anthony’s uncle Désiré, once the pride of the family, has become one of the “sleeping children.” Often found unconscious on street corners, he is now a stranger to his family. As Désiré’s life descends into chaos, the thunder of the AIDS crisis grows closer. These two stories—one intimate, one global—are about to collide.Anthony Passeron’s moving novel is also an eye-opening story about shame and the slow poisoning that secrets can inflict on a family. Exploring the stories of the heroic few who fought not only for a cure but for justice for an abandoned community, Sleeping Children is a radical vision of a history reshaped, retold, and remembered.
