This history of American armored warfare through the twentieth century “boasts some of the best available analysis of mobile war as practiced by the US" (Publishers Weekly).  Camp Colt to Desert Storm is the only complete history of US armed forces from the advent of the tank in battle during World War I to the campaign to drive Iraq out of Kuwait in 1991. With comprehensive analysis, it traces the development of doctrine for operations at the tactical and operational levels of war and assesses how this fighting doctrine translates into the development of equipment.   Beginning with the Army’s first tank school, Camp Colt in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, this volume examines how armored warfare effected and was influenced by the evolution of twentieth-century combat. The tank revolutionized the battlefield in World War II. In the years since, developments such as nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, computer assisted firing, and satellite navigation have continued to transform armored warfare’s role in combat.

If you choose a sleep ending, this track will help deepen your sleep after you have completed your meditation session. Hi:) I’m Amy Applebaum. And I’m really glad you are here!As a business owner who has made millions and a Life Success coach who has coached dozens of ambitious women (and some men), I believe very strongly that success is just as much about ‘how you think’ as it is ‘what you do’.Success is first and foremost an Inside Job.I have seen it in my own life.I’ve seen it with the entrepreneurs and industry leaders I have worked with whose lives have been wildly transformed just by changing their thoughts and then taking actions on those new beliefs.Let’s face it. We have a lot on our plate. And those of us who are running our own businesses even more so.We are giving so much to the world around us.But things won’t shift until we get those birds on our shoulders to stop the negative chitchat. And the best fastest way to cut the self-doubt in its tracks is through meditation. And I make doing meditation dead easy.My MOVE collections are guided meditations. You don’t have to learn the ‘ins and outs ’of meditation. All you need to do is throw those earbuds in and drift off to sleep!Downloaded over 500,000 times on places like iTunes and Audible, my MOVE meditations don’t just ‘relax’ and distress, they are specifically designed to help you get MOVING and unstuck. So that you can finally live the life you have always wanted!“I must say I am so impressed with how well this is working for me. I use it every morning before I start my day and I have found I am more motivated than I have been in a very long time. I am no longer procrastinating on things that I don’t want to do. Rather, approaching them with a whole new mindset. It feels great to accomplish those tasks and as a result, I have more confidence in my daily life. Thank you!” ~ Zeph22Isn’t it time? Isn’t it time to set aside the roadblocks that are impeding you from a life of freedom, no regrets and accomplished goals? And it’s so easy.Just put the earbuds in and listen.Nothing simpler. All you need to do to open the door to “get’er done” living the EASY wayis waiting for you here.

With decades of knowledge and proven, common-sense methods from “The Barefoot Farmer,” this practical guide to biodynamic principles and practices will appeal to growers of every scale and experience level.

In Barefoot Biodynamics, organic grower Jeff Poppen—“The Barefoot Farmer”—combines tales from his personal history in rural Tennessee with the practical applications of biodynamic principles and the deep aspects of the biodynamic methods that continue to make his farm a success today.

Jeff’s friendly, direct, and humorous writing will appeal not only to the biodynamic-curious, but also to farmers and gardeners who have experimented with the biodynamic approach and are looking for a deeper understanding of the practice.

Rooted in the teachings of biodynamic pioneer Rudolf Steiner, Jeff’s unique insights and deep reflections on “guiding lines” of biodynamic growing are an invaluable resource. Those “guiding lines” include:
producing a farm’s fertility using cover crops, compost, and other on-farm inputs enjoying the renewing power of farm festivals augmenting scientific knowledge with the power of observation and intuition avoiding chemical fertilizers understanding that carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen make up 95 percent of the physical structure of plants and are freely available in the air around us enhancing the availability of critical minerals such as silica and lime through good farming practices building humus-rich soil teeming with microbial life using homeopathic preparations to heal and enrich the soil

In addition, Jeff walks the reader through the eight lectures on farming given by Steiner in 1924, summarizing important points from each lecture and “translating” them from Steiner’s profound yet sometimes impenetrable vocabulary into plain language. In Barefoot Biodynamics, Jeff provides new insight into these enigmatic lectures, revealing an often overlooked yet cost-effective farming method rooted in common sense.

    The Prolongation Of Life

The Prolongation of Life, the main thesis is carried further, and a number of criticisms and objections are met. The latter, so far as they relate to technical details, I need say nothing of here, as Metchnikoff and his staff at the Pasteur Institute are the most skilled existing technical experts on these matters, but I cannot refrain from a word of comment on the brilliant treatment of the objection to the suggested amelioration of human life that it considered only the individual and neglected the just subordination of the individual to society. In the sixth Part of this volume, Metchnikoff discusses the relation of the individual to the species, society or colony, from the general point of view of comparative biology, and shows that as organisation progresses, the integrity of the individual becomes increasingly important. Were orthobiosis, the normal cycle of life, attained by human beings, there still would be room for specialisation of individuals and for differentiation of the functions of individuals in society, but instead of the specialisation and differentiation making individuals incomplete throughout their whole lives, they would be distributed over the different periods of the life of each individual.
As these lines are intended to be an introduction, not a commentary, I will now leave the reader to follow the argument in the book itself.
