Sinopsis

In Lost in a Pyramid; or, The Mummy’s Curse, Louisa May Alcott weaves a suspenseful tale of adventure, mystery, and supernatural retribution set in the shadow of ancient Egypt. When explorer Paul Forsyth and his companion Professor Niles become trapped inside a pyramid during an archaeological expedition, they stumble upon the preserved remains of a long-dead sorceress and a handful of mysterious seeds found near her tomb. Years later, back in England, Paul gifts the exotic seeds to his fiancée, unwittingly unleashing a deadly curse that binds the fate of the living to the vengeance of the ancient dead. 
Blending Gothic horror with early science fiction, Alcott’s story explores themes of greed, curiosity, and the perils of disturbing the past. One of the earliest examples of “mummy’s curse” fiction, this atmospheric short story captures the 19th-century fascination with Egyptology and the haunting consequences of human ambition.
