Sinopsis

A love story in the slow lane about loss and getting lost—two childhood sweethearts take a trip via pints, ponds and pitstops to find their future on a road less travelled from Stoke-on-Trent to WalesApparently, we spend almost two weeks of our life completely lost. If you add up all the times you take a wrong turn or find yourself somewhere you don't want to be, it equates to fourteen days of essentially being missing. One Monday afternoon, around three o'clock, pond supplies salesman Selwyn Robby arrives home towing the Toogood Aquatics exhibition caravan and orders his like-wife, Imogen 'Ginny' Dare, to get into the car. He's taking her on a little holiday, he says. To Wales. So begins their road trip west, via blasts from Selwyn's past, and a fortnight's journey of self-discovery for them both. But it's a fishy business towing this caravan, with its saucy mermaid curtains and fully stocked bar, and Ginny must untangle the pondweed to get to the bottom of it, even it does mean unearthing her own murky past to find out.

Years after turning her husband from beast back to man and becoming his queen, Belle finds out she's finally going to have a child. But before she can announce the wondrous news, she catches him cheating and watches her "happily ever after" go up in flames. Turning to her friends for the strength to land with grace, she realizes she's not the only one at a crossroads:
Cinderella, a mother of four drowning in royal duties, is facing her thirtieth birthday and questioning everything she's done (or hasn't) with her life.
Rapunzel, a sex-crazed socialite and one-woman powerhouse, is on a self-destructive quest to make up for twenty years locked away in a tower.
Penelopea, an outsider with a mother-in-law from hell, is harboring a secret that could ruin everything at any moment.
One part Sex and the City, two parts Desperate Housewives, and three parts Brothers Grimm, Desperately Ever After picks up where the original tales left off—and reimagines them à la Gregory Maguire's Wicked. With the wit of authors like Jennifer Weiner and the vision of ABC's Once Upon a Time, the women of Desperately Ever After rescue each other from life's trials with laughter, wine, and a scandalous new take on happily ever after.

From the author of The Dada Caper: Even an anti-American conspiracy can’t keep Chicago PI Chance Purdue from falling prey to his personal femme fatale.   Private Investigator Chance Purdue and Brandy Alexander work in tandem on a case that finds them traveling to the Illinois town of Radish River. The CIA continues to need help putting a stop to the DADA (Destroy America, Destroy America) Conspiracy, a terrorist organization whose latest plot is completely under wraps, except that it promises immense destruction. Things prove difficult for Chance and Brandy as they do what they can to remain focused on the task at hand. But it’s hard when distractions from football-playing gorillas, chariot races, copious booze—and especially each other—weave in and out of their lives and keep this case on the back burner.  Praise for Ross H. Spencer’s The Dada Caper “Parodies of the private‐eye novel come and go. Here is The Dada Caper by Ross H. Spencer. It has every cliché down pat, including rat-tat-tat writing in which paragraphs are seldom more than one sentence. . . . The hero is a private eye who is always tailing the wrong people and hitting the wrong guys. The Dada Caper is wild, shrewd, mad and unexpectedly funny.” —The New York Times

In Autobiography of a Fat Bride, Laurie Notaro tries painfully to make the transition from all-night partyer and bar-stool regular to mortgagee with plumbing problems and no air conditioning. Laurie finds grown-up life just as harrowing as her reckless youth, as she meets Mr. Right, moves in, settles down, and crosses the toe-stubbing threshold of matrimony. From her mother's grade-school warning to avoid kids in tie-died shirts because their hippie parents spent their food money on drugs and art supplies; to her night-before-the-wedding panic over whether her religion is the one where you step on the glass; to her unfortunate overpreparation for the mandatory drug-screening urine test at work; to her audition as a Playboy centerfold as research for a newspaper story, Autobiography of a Fat Bride has the same candor and outrageous humor that made Idiot Girls an instant cult phenomenon. In Autobiography of a Fat Bride, Laurie contemplates family, home improvement, and the horrible tyrannies of cosmetic saleswomen. She finds that life doesn't necessarily get any easier as you get older. But it does get funnier.

"Funny, poignant, each chapter a surprise, as this young man not only discovers the magic of Cornwall, but the magic inherently in him." - Deidre Gainor
A humorous, fish out of water story, this page-turner is a delight, a romp through Cornwall that will make you laugh out loud and leave you wanting more. If you like Bill Bryson you’ll enjoy this writing. It entertains while taking you on a journey. This novella is a love letter to Cornwall and its quirky characters.
Grant Decker is a disgruntled California art teacher turned 40, who has lost his way in life. A random stab on the map means he’s going to Penzance to spend his school holiday, hiking around the coast of Cornwall. Everything about Cornwall is strange to this American–the accents, the food, the changing weather. Determined to show Graeme, his trip planner, he’s not a lazy American, he avoids the bus and crashes through the scenery with comic effect. Walking on the coastal path he has visions of pirates, saints, mermaids, and chocolate cake, but it's through his encounters with the people of Cornwall that he learns how to be his authentic self. This is a journey of self-discovery.
