Sinopse

Recovering the truth in a culture of lies

The very idea of womanhood is under assault. Women are being sexualized by culture, repressed and silenced by much of the church, and minimized and redefined by language. Make no mistake about it: We are at war--for ourselves, our families, and the very lives of our sons and daughters. The question is, why? And with whom are we fighting?

While it's tempting to label people as our enemy, our true adversary is far more sinister, working in the shadows to undermine the very essence of womanhood, and with it, the divine image of male and female. Revelation 12 speaks of a dragon who is enraged with the woman and makes war on her children. This is a battle of cosmic proportions requiring heavenly solutions and insight. To win, we must first understand how he works and what he's after.

In The Fight for Female, Lisa Bevere pulls back the curtain on what's really going on in this cultural moment, and more importantly, what we can do about it, offering a way forward that transcends familiar talking points and drives us to find God-inspired answers.

This is not the time to cower or to compromise. Our marriages, children, churches, communities, and futures depend on us to be up to the task. This is your clarion call. Female is worth fighting for.

Jen Oshman Helps Women Reject Idols and Discover God's Good Purpose for Their Lives
In today's culture, women and girls are influenced by idols that promise purpose and meaning for their lives—outward beauty and ability, sex, abortion, and gender fluidity. Christian women aren't exempt from these temptations either, and can even elevate good things like marriage and motherhood to the status of idolatry. Women may sense that these idols are hollow and leave them feeling unsettled, but where should they turn instead?
In Cultural Counterfeits, Jen Oshman encourages women to reject the empty, destructive promises these idols offer and embrace something much more satisfying. She casts a vision for women to experience real hope and peace in Jesus, calling them to recognize their unshakable and eternal identities in him. This timely and compelling resource will help women find freedom and joy as they explore God's good design and purpose for their lives.

I originally hand wrote this book in the mid to late 90's; but had never published it. It is a prequel to my book "I AM HERE: My Faith Journey as a Survivor" published May 2022. The prequel spans my courtship, 9 year marriage that was emotionally abusive and my divorce after having two children. It was after the divorce that I survived a woman's worst nightmare. I was raped at gunpoint. My faith was strengthened as I experienced the criminal justice system first hand. I believe this book can help others see that God's plan is always the best for us and that His Grace is sufficient in all things. My hope for you is that you can experience what the New Living Translation Bible says in Psalm 34:8 "Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!" I am a woman of faith that listens carefully to the voice in my heart. I have written and published two books now that the Lord has inspired in me. I have relied on my faith throughout my life and it has guided me through many trials; divorce, miscarriages, rape, the criminal justice system, and surviving COVID even though I was not expected to live. I have been happily retired living the quiet country life with my husband for the past 5 years after teaching for 40 years. I am keeping up with my 9 grandchildren ranging in age from 4 months to 16 years old. I enjoy 2 stepping with my husband and we will be taking up Square Dancing in 2023. I enjoy hosting family gatherings at my home, reading books for book club, working out at the gym, and enjoying life to the fullest.

In this six-session Bible study, Karen Ehman, New York Times bestselling author of Keep it Shut, helps you rediscover the life-changing joy that comes from putting others first. In a culture that tells us a me-first, you-second way of living is the key to happiness, Ehman explains that the key to moving forward in almost every facet of your life is to embrace backward living.
Becoming a person who thinks about others first takes effort. It requires you to live alert. To be on the lookout in conversations for “heart drops”—hints of kindness you might grant to the person right in front of you, right where they are.
    But it is worth it.
Listen, Love, Repeat gives you both the encouragement and practical, daily ways you can reach out to others with both planned and random acts of kindness. Topics include loving your family and friends, encouraging coworkers, reaching out to the lonely, blessing the “necessary people” who help you get life done every day but often go unnoticed, and many others who could use an act of thoughtfulness. An additional focus on modeling for your children a lifestyle that listens and loves is accompanied by doable ideas for you and for your family.
Sessions include:Finding Your Big "Why?" (23:00)Let Love Complete the Circle (23:00)When You Live a Life of Welcome (22:00)How to Hug a Porcupine and Squeeze a Skunk (26:00)Family Matters (23:00)The Boomerang of Blessing (28:00)

These sessions will reflect the ambiance of the unique recording locations, immersing the listener into the teaching. While not required for the audio experience, these studies are designed to partner with the coordinating study guide, sold separately.

Can the lonely thread of her life be woven into a new and finer pattern?

When Saoirse Fagan arrives at Drumboe Castle to start her new job as housemaid, she is dismayed to learn that the lord of the house passed away a week prior. Already running from the tragedy that claimed the lives of her family members, Saoirse wanders the road through the darkening glen with nowhere to go until Aileen McCready offers her a lift and a place to stay for the night.

Aileen's brother, sheep farmer and weaver Owen McCready, is known for his intricate and impeccably woven tweed. But when he's injured, his entire livelihood is endangered. A new--and distracting--mouth to feed adds fuel to the fire, and Owen struggles to keep his family afloat. Though Saoirse is eager to help, even offering to learn the weaving craft, Owen is hesitant to accept aid from this strange young woman, no matter how inexplicably magnetic he finds her.

But Saoirse is not one to give up easily. She's determined to convince the McCreadys that they need her--perhaps as much as she needs them.

"Jennifer Deibel is an amazing writer and storyteller. She weaves a tale of love and forgiveness that's as beautiful as the cloth she describes."--Tracie Peterson, bestselling, award winning author of over 140 books, including The Heart of Cheyenne and the Pictures of the Heart series

October 1939—What happens when you run from danger… and into a trap?
After the Anschluss, Austria becomes a place its citizens don’t recognize—especially its Jewish citizens. Whispers ripple through Jewish communities—whispers about a chalet where a woman protects Jewish children from discovery. She’ll keep them safe, fed, and far away from Nazis.
Parents are forced to make horrific decisions. Send their children away to safety, possibly never seeing them again, or keep their families together and risk their children’s lives?
Hans Hartmann arrives at the chalet with a chip on his shoulder and a little girl in tow. He found Grete waiting at the train station. Alone. But life at Chalet Versteck feels more ominous than the streets of Vienna. Children sometimes vanish, and before Hans can figure out what’s happening, a high-ranking officer appears—and is killed.
It’s a race to find out who killed the man and get himself (and probably that pesky Grete) out!
A Ransomed Grete is the bridge book between the 1920s and 1940s Ever After Mysteries, combining fairy tales with mysteries.
