Sinopse

“It was the 8th day before Christmas when she decided to come out as a transgender woman. Yearning to feel what it was like to be coveted as a lady, she secretly wrote her wishes in her songbook. On Christmas eve, the choirmaster stumbled upon her musings… then shared every detail from cover to cover with her choirmates”.

College freshman Carl has been an active member of their town’s church choir in Warren County, New Jersey since he was eight. He was often told that whenever he sang using the peak of his vocal range, the sound he produced seemed like a manifestation of the holy spirit.

Having a supportive family, he decided to finally come out as a transgender woman in her town. Shortly after, he debuted his real identity as Carol.

Her decision received mixed reactions from the churchgoers and neighbors. However, she didn’t mind as at that very moment, all she cared about was the reception of the choir.

Note: This story contains straight transgender love, reverse harem, feminization, crossdressing sissy femboys, transgender transformation, transgender romance, and first time with a transgender woman tropes. Some real places and people were referenced but the story is a work of fiction. The cover image is from Brightlucky Press.

Lauren Layne's latest novel about the healing power of redemption tells the story of a crush gone wickedly wrong, proving that what you want isn't always what you need.

Growing up in New York, Michael St. Claire never expected to spend his twenties wearing cowboy boots. But that was before he learned about his real father, a total stranger with a family in Cedar Grove, Texas. Once in the Lone Star State, Michael meets Kristin Bellamy, who is exquisitely refined and everything Michael always thought he wanted in a woman. The only problem is that Kristin is dating Michael's new half brother, Devon.

Kristin's mouthy, curvy sister Chloe has always been in love with Devon Patterson. So when Michael offers to help Chloe break up Devon and Kristin, Chloe agrees to a deal that seems too good to be true. Before long, Chloe finally gets her man, only to make a startling discovery: She no longer wants the guy she had to fight for—she wants the one who stood by her side.

After all he and Chloe have been through, Michael swears he's damaged goods. Can Chloe convince him that love is worth the risk?

In a dark and crooked lane in an unnamed city where it never ceases to snow, a small white box falls from a coat pocket. It is made of paper strips woven tightly together; there is no apparent way to open it without destroying it. What compels a passing witness, a self-described anthrophobe not inclined to engage with other people, to pick up the box and chase after the stranger who dropped it?

The Box follows an impenetrable rectangle as it changes hands in a collapsing metropolis, causing confluences, conflicts, rifts, and disasters. Different narrators, each with a distinctive voice, give secondhand accounts of decisive moments in the box's life. From the anthrophobe to a newly hired curator of a renowned art collection, from a couple who own an antiquarian bookshop to a hotel bartender hiding from a terrible past, the storytellers repeat rumors and rely on faulty memories, grasping at something that continually escapes them. Haunting their recollections is one mysterious woman who, convinced of the box's good or evil powers, pursues it with deadly desperation.

In this mesmerizing, intricately constructed puzzle of a novel, Mandy-Suzanne Wong challenges our understanding of subjects and objects, of cause and effect. Is it only humans who have agency? What is or isn't animate? What do we value and what do we discard?

The New Atlantis is a utopian novel by Sir Francis Bacon. In this work, Bacon portrayed a vision of the future of human discovery and knowledge, expressing his aspirations and ideals for humankind. The novel depicts the creation of a utopian land where "generosity and enlightenment, dignity and splendor, piety and public spirit" are the commonly held qualities of the inhabitants of "Bensalem". The plan and organization of his ideal college, "Salomon's House" envisioned the modern research university in both applied and pure sciences. Many aspects of the society and history of the island are described, such as the christian religion - which is reported to have being born there as a copy of the Bible and a letter from the Apostle Saint Bartholomew arrived there miraculously, a few years after the Ascension of Jesus; a cultural feast in honor of the family institution, called "the Feast of the Family"; a college of sages, the Salomon's House, "the very eye of the kingdom".
