Sinopsis

Emotional Intelligence Skills offers a practical roadmap to mastering emotional intelligence (EQ), which is increasingly vital for success. The book emphasizes that EQ isn't an innate trait but a learnable skill, challenging the idea that some are naturally gifted with it. Readers will explore how understanding and managing emotions effectively, combined with social awareness, can unlock better communication, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities.

The book uniquely blends research-backed theories with practical exercises, enabling immediate application of learned concepts. The book progresses through stages, starting with self-assessment and exploring emotional triggers to foster self-awareness.

It then introduces techniques for regulating emotional responses and managing stress, crucial for personal growth. Finally, it offers strategies for building empathy, improving communication, and resolving conflicts constructively, all essential for enhancing interpersonal relationships. By mastering these emotional skills, readers can positively impact both their personal and professional lives.

The tireless resistance of local communities fighting for ownership of America's third largest water system

Toxic Water, Toxic System exposes the consequences of a seemingly anonymous authoritarian state willing to maintain white supremacy at any cost—including poisoning an entire city and shutting off water to thousands of people. Weaving together narratives of frontline activists along with archival data, Michael Mascarenhas provides a powerful exploration of the political alliances and bureaucratic mechanisms that uphold inequality.

Drawing from three years of ethnographic fieldwork in Flint and Detroit, this book amplifies the voices of marginalized communities, particularly African American women, whose perspectives and labor have been consistently overlooked. Toxic Water, Toxic System offers a fresh perspective on the ties between urban austerity policies, environmental harm, and the advancement of white supremacist agendas in predominantly Black and brown cities.

The original "Yoga Secrets of Patanjali" are in themselves exceedingly brief, less than 10 pages in the original ancient texts. Yet, as they are based upon the great, timeless Bhagavad Gita, they contain the essence of all practical wisdom, set forth in admirable order and great detail. This timeless theme brings forth a palpable spiritual regeneration, the rebirth of the spiritual from the psychical: the same sacred theme that the realized yogis of India so wisely and eloquently set forth over 5,000 years ago.

Vyasa is the legendary Indian sage who is credited with compiling the Mahabharata, a collection of legendary and didactic poetry worked around a central heroic narrative. In India his birthday is celebrated as Guru Purnima, on Shukla Purnima day in the month of Ashadha (June–July).
Vyasa was the son of the ascetic Parashara and the dasyu (aboriginal) princess Satyavati and grew up in forests, living with hermits who taught him the Vedas. Thereafter he lived in the forests near the banks of the river Sarasvati, becoming a teacher and a priest, fathering a son and disciple, Shuka, and gathering a large group of disciples. Late in life, living in caves in the Himalayas, he is said to have divided the Vedas into the four traditional collections, composed Puranas, and, in a period of two and a half years, composed his great poetic work, the Mahabharata, supposedly dictating it to his scribe, Ganesha, the elephant god.

Perfect for all students of the eight-fold yoga path, curious commuters, and all library and school collections. A once-in-a-lifetime audio experience event. Perfect for universities and digital educational media.

How do you improve your own life?
You find a way to deal with the challenges life throws your way... which is always easier said than done.
A favorite quote of mine, by George Bernard Shaw, explains a lot of why I feel we struggle in life:
"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing."
Which is why I wanted to write this book. To share how incorporating more FUN into our lives will allow us to deal with challenging moments that come our way.
Take a moment right now and think about someone you know who is consistently upbeat, optimistic, and appears to be troubled by nothing. On the surface, they look like they enjoy life and have a lot of FUN.
Ever wished you could be more like them? Wished you could approach life the same way, letting things just roll off your back like water off a duck's back? You Can!
By reading Fundamism: Connecting to Life Through F.U.N. you're one step closer to feeling more joy and fulfilment in your life.
We all desire happiness and minimal stress but life doesn't always work out the way we want it to.
You'll learn how to improve self esteem, deal with life challenges, overcome fear... ultimately, this book will help you to change your life.
Using 10 FUNdamentals, you'll quickly learn how easy it is to add more fun to your life and those around you. What are you waiting for? It's time to jump on the FUN train (all aboard!) and smile, laugh and have more fun!

Joan Morgan offers a provocative and powerful look into the life of the modern black woman: a complex world in which feminists often have not-so-clandestine affairs with the most sexist of men, where women who treasure their independence frequently prefer men who pick up the tab, where the deluge of babymothers and babyfathers reminds black women who long for marriage that traditional nuclear families are a reality for less than forty percent of the population, and where black women are forced to make sense of a world where truth is no longer black and white but subtle, intriguing shades of gray.
Still fresh, funny, and irreverent, When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost gives voice to the most intimate thoughts of the post–Civil Rights, post-feminist, post-soul generation.
