This book is designed initially for Japanese learners, N5 to N3, but it's also suitable for people looking for a bilingual novel in Japanese and English. The main character, Kevin Cartwright, visits Japan on Working Holiday, and he falls in love with a Japanese woman who is a colleague of his Japanese best friend, Yukio. And Tomoko, an almost "Yandere" woman who loves Yukio, is involved in Kevin's life. The four main characters weave this story. Kevin enjoys living in Japan, but he wants to remain there after his expired visa. The readers would experience through Kevin living in Tokyo; how to write a Japanese CV, manners, and culture. Through the stories, I introduce many idioms and expressions native Japanese use. It consists of 16 chapters, and each one comes along with word lists and 20 JLPT practice tests. This book is also great for intermediate levels because they need to understand more natural living Japanese. The audible version comes soon! The learners can listen to the stories in both English and Japanese and practice pronouncing words. I hope you enjoy studying Japanese with this book! Contents 1. Japan, My Favorite Country 2. When Okumu's village in Northern Uganda is attacked by a guerrilla rebel group, the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) led by Joseph Kony, he and his brother find that their lives are changed forever. Far Gone is a profoundly moving play for one actor which tells the story of a young boy's journey from childhood innocence to child soldier, seen through the eyes of those that love him – and those that betray him. Inspired by John Rwothomack's own real-life experience of nearly being kidnapped by the LRA, the play was co-produced by Roots Mbili Theatre and Sheffield Theatres, with support from Theatre Deli, Sheffield. It premiered at the Crucible Studio, Sheffield, in 2022, directed by Mojisola Elufowoju. 'This play is not about me, the kid who was lucky enough to escape. This play is for the hundreds of thousands who did not. For the parents whose children were either lost forever or forever changed. For the young girls who were forced to marry men old enough to be their fathers. For the brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, sons and daughters who lost the innocence of childhood, simply for being born at an unfortunate time in an unfortunate place. For the future generations who will continue to suffer the trauma the LRA has imprinted on them, for many years to come.' John RwothomackVer libro
"Dedicated to my mother, the Great Goddess." Life, unpredictable, yields return for sacrifices made. Departing from the conventional path, I surrendered much to existence. Pain, a constant companion, birthed verse—each line a product of anguish turned art. In the ebb and flow of life's challenges, I found solace in writing. What emerged were rhythmic verses, transforming suffering into poetry. Some reflect, others introspect; some offer insight, and others observe. Regardless, each verse is a product of life's trials and emotions. Surprisingly, these verses multiplied over the years. Today, I share them not for accolades, but to be heard amidst the chaos. Some stories must be told, some silences shattered. I offer my rhymes openly, a reflection, a token of my journey.Ver libro
'O, full of scorpions is my mind.' The spellbinding story of love and murder, power and paranoia, and the internal struggles of a married couple as they try to control their destiny, and one another… This official tie-in edition to the Donmar Warehouse's acclaimed 2023 revival of Shakespeare's extraordinary psychological drama features rich and revealing behind-the-scenes material exploring how the production was conceived and developed. Starring David Tennant and Cush Jumbo, and directed by Donmar Associate Director Max Webster, this bracingly fresh version used binaural sound technology to place the audience inside the minds of the Macbeths, asking us: are we are ever really responsible for our actions? It was first staged at the Donmar Warehouse, London, in December 2023, and transferred to the Harold Pinter Theatre in the West End in October 2024. In addition to the version of Shakespeare's text performed, this volume also includes a fascinating rehearsal diary, colour photos, and interviews with its leading cast and creative team: Tennant, Jumbo and Webster, plus designer Rosanna Vize, sound designer Gareth Fry and composer and musical director Alasdair Macrae.Ver libro
"The Romance of the Headless Horseman" is a gothic poem by Hercules Ellis, first appearing in his collection of poems in "The Rhyme Book" published in 1851. This rare 19th-century penny dreadful spins a dark and dramatic story inspired by ghostly legends of a decapitated rider who stalks the night. With its gripping suspense and eerie atmosphere, this forgotten classic is a gem of gothic poetry ─ a haunting tale that is a great accompaniment for any dark or stormy night.Ver libro
