It’s Easter time. Spid is excited about chocolate eggs and a very special cake – until he notices that carrots and lettuces are vanishing from his vegetable patch. How could they just disappear? Is there a vegetable thief at work? As he investigates, Spid must be as cleverley as Cleverley Evaleigh to solve the mystery. But can you solve the mystery before Spid in this fun Easter book for kids? This audiobook features two songs: 'We're Sorry' and 'Wabbit'. You can also find music videos of the songs at https://spidthespider.com and https://www.youtube.com/spidthespider. Spid is a lowly spider, who wants to better himself, write songs, and marry his girlfriend Bid, though he is prone to hilarious mishaps mostly of his own making. He is hard-working, cool, and a role model for young children. As well as encouraging children to read and love books, Spid's adventures also teach valuable life lessons, including determination and what psychologists call a 'growth mindset' (desire to better oneself and succeed), the importance of friendship, and sustainability. With very creative prose, Spid's adventures are fun for parents, and teachers to read to, and with, their children. They present lots of opportunities to invest dramatic licence thus helping adults and children interact and engage. The humour works at multiple levels from silly and slapstick to more sophisticated wordplay and concepts. Thus, children will discover more and enjoy reading the stories multiple times. In 1854, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jennings, an African American schoolteacher, fought back when she was unjustly denied entry to a New York City streetcar, sparking the beginnings of the long struggle to gain equal rights on public transportation.

One hundred years before Rosa Parks took her stand, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jennings tried to board a streetcar in New York City on her way to church. Though there were plenty of empty seats, she was denied entry, assaulted, and threatened all because of her race--even though New York was a free state at that time. Lizzie decided to fight back. She told her story, took her
case to court--where future president Chester Arthur represented her--and won! Her victory was the first recorded in the fight for equal rights on public transportation, and Lizzie's case set a precedent. Author Beth Anderson and acclaimed illustrator E. B. Lewis bring this inspiring, little-known story to life in this captivating book.

    YOUNG BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE
    PORT OF BRISTOL 1690
Book 6 of 6 – The Great water balloon ambush
Here is the summary of the Story:
In 1690s Bristol, young Edward Teach (future Blackbeard) leads his crew in their most daring raid yet—ambushing their own parents' picnic with water balloons. After days of restless boredom aboard The Salty Pickle, Edward masterminds the attack: modified spud cannons launch pig-bladder balloons, Charles leads a bucket brigade, and Anne's piercing scream signals the assault. The crew infiltrates the meadow with military precision, soaking the unsuspecting adults in a glorious, chaotic battle. Though initially stunned, the parents join the fun, surrendering their soggy sandwiches with laughter. This final adventure showcases Edward's tactical genius and flair for dramatic command—qualities that would later make him history's most feared pirate. The story blends authentic period details with childhood whimsy, concluding the series by demonstrating how Blackbeard's legendary leadership began with simple backyard adventures and loyal friends who followed him into any mischief.
This is the last of six audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy this final instalment, and it's only $3.
The initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes being accordion, fiddle, harmonica and bango in a classical sea shanty jig. The closing music ends the tale on a similar jig and at about 2 minutes with the same musical instruments but more upbeat looking forward to the next episode.
The story itself runs to about 35 minutes is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!
