What If You're Right? shows you how to end self-improvement exhaustion and find you are utterly wise, mighty, held, and whole-despite feeling and being told otherwise.
Emily Colwell, MSSW, ND-a therapist and physician with a combined thirty years of experience-dispels the myth that we need to look outside ourselves for validation and direction.
The lens of wrongness is everywhere in our culture. It convinces us that cues from our minds and bodies are innately incorrect. We're told that being fearful is wrong, being anxious is wrong, having debilitating fatigue is wrong, and so on.
But what if our minds and bodies have been right all along?
When Emily shifted from seeing her experiences through the lens of wrongness to embracing curiosity in those micro-moments as she navigated chronic illness, thyroid cancer, changing sexual orientation, and childhood trauma, her life underwent a profound transformation. She started to see that her seemingly "wrong" feelings were the body's messengers, offering guidance and wisdom.
What If You're Right? will show you:
How to stop feeling like a relentless self-improvement project. How to update your relationship with your health challenges, parenting insecurities, body image and more so you can access the relief you've always wanted. How to pause the fight against parts of yourself, including anxiety and fear, that feel wrong, and instead discover how curiosity changes your experience.
What if it turns out your rightness is one micro-moment away? The micro-moment offers the invitation to pause and tap into your most powerful, ever-present ally, the one that's been patiently waiting for you to come home.Discover how right you are in a world that makes you feel so wrong.

In the shadows of gleaming skyscrapers and vibrant commercial districts lies another city entirely—one marked by systemic deprivation, limited opportunity, and persistent struggle. Urban poverty represents one of the most complex and pressing challenges of our increasingly urbanized world, where the concentration of wealth and opportunity paradoxically exists alongside pockets of profound disadvantage. This comprehensive exploration delves into the multifaceted nature of Urban Poverty and Inequality, examining the lived experiences of The Urban Poor, and analyzing The Urban-Rural Divide that shapes resource distribution and development patterns across landscapes of inequity.
The narrative of urban deprivation is fundamentally a story of systemic contradictions, where proximity to abundance often accentuates rather than alleviates scarcity. By examining the structural forces, policy decisions, historical legacies, and global economic patterns that create and perpetuate urban inequality, this book illuminates the complex interplay between spatial location, economic opportunity, and social mobility in contemporary cities. Readers will journey through the intricate landscapes where urban poverty manifests—from informal settlements and public housing developments to gentrifying neighborhoods and peripheral urban zones—while exploring the resilience strategies, community responses, and policy interventions that address these challenges. Through evidence-based analysis, theoretical frameworks, and human-centered perspectives, we aim to deepen understanding of urban inequality not as an inevitable by-product of urbanization, but as a complex social phenomenon shaped by specific historical contexts, policy choices, and economic systems that can be transformed through intentional, equitable approaches to urban development.

Stories of WWII’s elite glider troops and their combat operations, including Eben Emael, Normandy, Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge, and more.   Long pursued by civilian thrill seekers and dare devils, airborne gliding came of age during World War II as one of that conflict’s most dangerous combat operations. The armed forces of Axis and Allied nations developed gliders—wooden aircraft that bursts of flak could shred and a poor landing could smash—and flew them into battle at Eben Emael, Crete, Normandy, Arnhem, and Bastogne.    James E. Mrazek’s riveting account brings to life both the men who carried out these perilous missions and the gliders that proved vital to the success of airborne attacks.

This book contains the following titles:
    - The 2023 Inflation Surge: The year 2023 witnessed an unprecedented surge in inflation across multiple global economies, challenging both policymakers and citizens. This inflationary spike had far-reaching implications, reshaping how individuals and businesses approach spending, saving, and investment. For many, the cost of living soared, driven by rising prices on essential goods and services. The effects were not limited to any one region; they were felt in both developed and emerging economies, exacerbating the economic struggles that had already been heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain disruptions.

    - The Collapse of the Soviet Union: The Soviet Union, once the most powerful socialist state on the planet, dominated global politics and economics for much of the 20th century. From its establishment in 1922 until its disintegration in 1991, the USSR stood as a superpower, rivaling the United States in military strength, technological innovation, and ideological influence. The Soviet Union was not just a political entity; it was the manifestation of a grand vision of socialist governance that sought to reshape the world. Its rise to power was marked by revolution, war, and the forging of a unique socio-economic structure that stood in stark contrast to the capitalist world.

Before the outbreak of World War II, women’s roles in society were primarily defined by traditional expectations of domesticity and support. The early 20th century saw most women confined to the home, tasked with caring for children, managing households, and supporting their husbands. While some women worked outside the home, their opportunities were limited to roles deemed suitable for their gender, such as teaching, nursing, and clerical work. A societal emphasis on strict gender roles reinforced the idea that women’s contributions were secondary to those of men.

Despite these restrictions, change was already stirring in many parts of the world. The suffrage movement had gained momentum in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, granting women the right to vote in some countries. This political shift signaled the beginning of a broader movement toward gender equality. Women’s participation in the workforce during World War I also laid important groundwork, as millions stepped into roles vacated by men who had gone to fight. Although many women were forced to relinquish these jobs after the war, the experience proved their capability and fueled the belief that women could contribute beyond the domestic sphere.

However, the interwar period brought mixed progress. The economic hardships of the Great Depression in the 1930s reinforced traditional values in some regions, with governments and employers often prioritizing men for scarce jobs. At the same time, women’s organizations continued to advocate for expanded rights, education, and opportunities. The period also saw significant cultural shifts, with women entering public life in new ways. The flapper era of the 1920s, for instance, challenged societal norms by embracing independence, freedom of expression, and modernity.
