  The summary of this audiobook is as follows: 
  Seven-year-old Alice follows her younger brother William (nicknamed the White Rabbit for his obsession with time) into a hidden door in their garden hedge, tumbling into Wonderland—a surreal world where her family embodies fantastical roles. Her father is the Mad Hatter, her mother the tyrannical Queen of Hearts, and William the frantic White Rabbit. Guided by a Cheshire Cat and talking flowers, Alice navigates absurd challenges, including a chaotic croquet match with the Queen and a trial over a missing strawberry from a royal tart (secretly stolen by William to aid her escape). 
  Throughout her journey, Alice learns that Wonderland is a reflection of her family’s hidden quirks: her father’s creativity flourishes as the Hatter, her mother’s strictness magnifies as the Queen, and William’s punctuality defines his rabbit persona. After outwitting the Queen’s wrath with help from the Dormouse and her brother, Alice climbs back through the rabbit hole, returning to her ordinary life—but with a strawberry and a tiny blue hat as proof her adventure was real. 
  The story blends whimsy with deeper themes of identity, family dynamics, and the blurred line between reality and imagination, offering a fresh twist on the classic Alice in Wonderland tale. 
  The initial opening credit music is modern, upbeat with female vocals lasting about 3 minutes with the instrumental closing music about the same jazz funk genre. 
  The story and music itself runs to nearly 1 hour and is narrated by claire francis, my wife.

  The Man Who Found Out by Roger D. Aycock - It's one thing to blow a bubble of glib, journalistic lies. Quite another to have that bubble burst in a nightmarish, green beyond. 
  The trouble with Fortenay was that he was not merely a skeptic but a professional skeptic, which is just another way of saying that he was a widely known and highly paid journalist who had long ago learned to capitalize on his penchant for iconoclasm. Fortenay was also given to the sort of reflexive arrogance inevitable to some small men, and was unscrupulous enough in its exercise to point up the flavor of his satiric commentary on any currently news-worthy phenomenon with the strong spice of semantic misrepresentation. 
  Fortenay was, in short, an able, intelligent, ambitious and thoroughly offensive little heel. He was precisely the sort who should never have been permitted in any responsible capacity aboard a scientific vessel like the oceanographic survey tug Cormorant when she was in the process of investigating a find as important as the gigantic artifact which Dr. Hans Weigand had discovered in the six-mile abyss of Bartlett Deep just south of Cuba. 
  But Fortenay's publisher was a power among politicians as well as among publishers, so Fortenay was able to announce in his syndicated column that his readers would receive on-the-spot coverage of the investigation, and that no smoke-screen of scientific doubletalk should keep the truth from them. 
  The announcement was greeted with great interest, since various disturbing rumors concerning the nature of Dr. Weigand's discovery were already in circulation. Most of them—since Dr. Weigand himself was frankly unable to offer any clue as to their origin or purpose—were elaborated upon by Fortenay and his colleagues with less regard for truth than for dramatic effect.

  Megalodon The: The History and...

  As scary as the shark in Jaws is, the extinct megalodon had teeth three times the length of those found within the jaws of a great white shark, so a human would only have been a small snack. In fact, the megalodon was capable of swallowing a small car. Known to scientists as Otodus megalodon or Carcharocles megalodon (otodus meaning “tooth shaped like an ear”; carcharocles meaning “well known for jaggedness”; and megalodon meaning “big tooth”), this predator lived approximately 23–3.6 million years ago), from the early Miocene Epoch to the early Pliocene Epoch. The genus name Otodus and the family name Otodontidae are now the most commonly used, but scientific literature remains full of the older designation, and many of the shark experts regard the new family designation as flawed.  
  	For many years, megalodon was thought to be more closely related to the great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias), and though both are still part of the order Lamniformes, the two species now reside in different families: Lamnidae and Otodontidae (megalodon). Either way, while great white sharks can reach sizes of 20 feet long and nearly 2.5 tons in weight, the average megalodon was twice as big, and some of them may have been about three times as big. The sheer size allowed it to target prey as big as whales, and the massive jaw allowed it to simply tear through any kind of body with no regard for the prey’s most vulnerable spots.  
  	While all of that seems to be beyond dispute, almost everything else about the history of the megalodon is up for debate, from its origins to its extinction.  The Megalodon: The History and Legacy of the World’s Largest Prehistoric Predator covers that expansive history in detail, from what is known to what remains most mysterious.
