Over the past three decades, Lew Bryson has been one of the most influential voices in whiskey. In Whiskey Master Class, Lew shares everything he's learned on his journey through the worlds of bourbon, Scotch, rye, Japanese whiskey, and more (yes, there are tasty Canadian and Irish whiskeys!). In this book, you'll find:

    ● An overview of the different types of whiskeys, including the rules and identities of each. He also includes information on craft whiskeys, which tend to be more creative and freewheeling than the styles made by traditional producers.

    ● Exploration of the key whiskey ingredients, with a close look at the flavor contributions of malt, peat, corn, rye, wheat—even water matters.

    ● Distillation for non-distillers and the beauty of barrels: Whiskey is both an art and a science, and what's in the glass is affected by things like pot stills vs. column stills, barrel char, and of course, time.

    ● Numerous interviews with master distillers, still makers, and other artisans at the top of their field.

    ● Tasting notes throughout so you can identify the whiskeys you might want to try next.

You'll want to do the homework with whiskey as the subject!

Make Dating Your Health: The Blood, The Cells, The Oxygen - the essence of this message would resonate deeply. The importance of dating your health transcends mere words or scientific facts; it's about recognizing that oxygen is not just a biological necessity but a vital partner in our lives. Just as in any romantic relationship, nurturing and valuing this connection is essential for a vibrant, fulfilling life. Oxygen is the unseen thread that ties together every aspect of life. The relationships we cherish, the homes we build, and even the paper we use to make payments—all of these are sustained by oxygen. You might say that just as people go to great lengths to protect their loved ones or secure their homes, they must also fight to maintain their relationship with oxygen. Without it, none of the other elements of life could exist. Oxygen is more than just a biological necessity; it is the caregiver of our existence. In turn, we must become caregivers of our health, nurturing our bond with oxygen as we would any other vital relationship.

    Forbidden - A 3000-Year History...

Jews do not eat pig. This (not always true) observation has been made by both Jews and non-Jews for more than three thousand years and is rooted in biblical law. Though the Torah prohibits eating pig meat, it is not singled out more than other food prohibitions. Horses, rabbits, squirrels, and even vultures, while also not kosher, do not inspire the same level of revulsion for Jews as the pig. The pig has become a symbol for people to signal their Jewishness, non-Jewishness, or rebellion from Judaism.

Starting with the Hebrew Bible, Jordan D. Rosenblum historicizes the emergence of the pig as a key symbol of Jewish identity, from the Roman persecution of ancient rabbis, to the Spanish Inquisition, to Shakespeare's writings, to modern memoirs of those leaving Orthodox Judaism. The pig appears in debates about Jewish emancipation in eighteenth-century England and in vaccine conspiracies; in World War II rallying cries, when many American Jewish soldiers were "eating ham for Uncle Sam;" and in recent deliberations about the kosher status of Impossible Pork.

All told, there is a rich and varied story about the associations of Jews and pigs over time, both emerging from within Judaism and imposed on Jews by others. Expansive yet accessible, Forbidden offers a captivating look into Jewish history and identity through the lens of the pig.

Veganism is a philosophy, diet, and lifestyle. The term “vegan” combines the beginning and end of the word “vegetarian,” symbolizing the transition to veganism, which starts with vegetarianism.A vegan is defined as a “strict vegetarian who consumes no animal food or dairy products” and “one who abstains from using animal products,” extending beyond merely dietary exclusions.Such forbidden foods include eggs, honey, and gelatin. In contrast, animal products such as leather, wool, fur, and silk are excluded from clothing and upholstery. In other words, veganism is not simply a diet but a lifestyle. This key aspect often goes unnoticed today. In this audiobook, you will learn that the reasons for becoming vegan are numerous and varied.

    AMISH CANNING AND PRESERVING...

From the outside looking in, the Amish appear to be simple people. They eschew any modern conveniences in favor of old-fashioned living. This lifestyle means no motorized vehicles, electronics, or most forms of technology developed after the 19th century. The rejection of advances in the rest of society sometimes includes ideals, viewpoints, practices, and programs developed as the rest of the world evolved. Since most Amish communities are located in the United States, they occasionally conflict with the state and federal governments.
When their traditions clash with the official laws and regulations in their jurisdiction, concessions are made on both sides. The United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agreed in 1961 that the Amish are exempt from paying taxes to the Federal Social Security program, and was codified by a law passed in 1965. Conversely, despite their insular nature, they are still subject to the United States criminal justice system. They will cooperate with local and federal law enforcement agencies when necessary, despite their preference for using religious bodies to handle legal conflicts.
Much of the motivation behind the Amish maintaining such insular communities stems from their difficult history at their inception.
