Sinopsis

Julia Kelly's mother, Delphine, spent much of her life in the shadows as a politician's wife, tending selflessly to the needs of her husband, John, and five wild children. Rattling around in a draughty house, the siblings – though much-loved – are left largely to their own devices, tended to by a series of hapless au-pairs, dodging mouse invasions and forever in search of their exhausted mother's attention.
When John collapses of a heart attack at the age of fifty-nine, it is a sad liberation for his wife. Unshackled from her domestic duties, Delphine undergoes a transformation. She embraces sea-swimming and, along with a coterie of elderly ladies, sets out on adventures to far-flung places. Her final journey is to the Galapagos Islands where, hit by an unexpected wave, she loses her balance and is forced underwater. When her body surfaces she is no longer breathing. The book left on her bedside locker in the hotel is 1,000 Places to See Before You Die.
Mired in grief, the five siblings begin the long repatriation of their mother's body. But it is the post-mortem report that provides the key to Julia's healing and recovery: gradually, within the clinical descriptions of limbs and eyes, heart and toes, Julia finds solace. Taking inspiration from each body part, she breathes life into Delphine – finally still and fully present for the first time in her seventy-two years – in gorgeous, luminous prose.
What leaps from the pages of STILL is someone unforgettable: a vibrant, complex woman, whose endless capacity for love continues to inspire and comfort. In the end, She died as she had always strived to live: in the middle of a huge adventure, diving into the great unknown.

"To Love Another Person is to See the Face of God."

Victor Hugo was more than a writer; he was a national conscience. A titan of the Romantic movement, Hugo possessed the unique ability to capture the grandeur of Gothic architecture and the grit of the Parisian barricades in a single breath. This comprehensive collection celebrates his life's work, tracing his journey from a young poetic prodigy to the world-renowned advocate for the "miserable" and the oppressed.

A Visionary of the Human Spirit: Hugo's work is defined by its sheer scale and moral gravity. He masterfully explored the struggle between law and grace, the beauty found in the grotesque, and the eternal resilience of the human heart against social tyranny. His narratives are famous for their "encyclopedic realism," blending high-stakes drama with profound meditations on history, architecture, and philosophy. Whether he is championing the rights of the poor or exploring the dark depths of obsession and redemption, Hugo remains the definitive voice of humanitarian literature and epic storytelling.

Victor Hugo's influence remains a cornerstone of modern culture, inspiring some of the world's most famous stage and screen adaptations. His prose is a masterclass in passion and lyrical power. This volume is an essential addition to any library of world classics, historical epics, and socially conscious fiction.

A smart, funny, and refreshingly candid memoir from Mark Hoppus, the vocalist, bassist, and founding member of pop-punk band blink-182. Narrated in his own voice, the audiobook offers an intimate and immersive experience that fans won’t want to miss.
This is the story of an angst-filled kid from the desert, navigating the chaos of his parents' bitter divorce and searching for his place in the world. Each move across the country was a chance to reinvent himself, switching identities from dork to goth to skate punk, and eventually meeting his best friend who just so happens to be his musical soulmate.
With sharp humor and raw honesty, Fahrenheit-182 takes readers through Mark's formative years as a latchkey kid in the 1980s, hooked on punk rock, skateboards, and MTV. Along the way, Mark reflects on his lifelong battle with anxiety, his celebrated career with blink-182, and his public fight with cancer, in a voice that’s both relatable and unmistakably his own.
Threaded with heartfelt grit, Fahrenheit-182 is more than just a memoir for blink-182 fans. It’s a funny, smart, and deeply human story for anyone who’s struggled, reinvented themselves, wanted to quit but kept going.

Before he had a driver's license, Ryan Merket was leading a global software cracking group from his Texas bedroom—the only business school he ever attended. Hacker's Edge is the improbable story of how that unconventional education propelled him from the digital underground to the halls of Facebook, Amazon, and Reddit.
But this is not a story about stock options and catered lunches. It's an unflinching look at the brutal cost of ambition: a battle with addiction that nearly ended his life, a marriage that buckled under the strain of startup culture, and a humiliating professional failure that coincided with a debilitating health crisis.
At his lowest point, a venture capitalist told him he lacked the “killer instinct” to win. He was right. Merket's edge wasn't being a killer; it was being the guy who had already been broken and knew how to get back up.
Raw, witty, and deeply moving, this memoir is a testament to the power of resilience and a survival guide for the underdog in a world obsessed with ruthless tactics.

Through four decades of entertaining, in the wrestling ring and on the monster truck circuit, Debrah “Madusa” Miceli never could sit still. But her desire to learn, grow, and inspire legions of followers masked deep secrets … Her upbringing was a lie from the start, and the dark truths of her childhood, revealed here for the first time, are the earliest examples of Debrah’s determination to persevere.

Professional wrestling may have been an odd choice for a nursing student, but Madusa went all-in, toughening up in Japan before conquering WWE as Alundra Blayze. She held the WWE Women’s belt … until being fired. In the rival WCW, Madusa infamously tossed the WWE belt in the garbage on live TV.

Then, in 1999, Madusa changed lanes and revolutionized the monster truck world. At meet-and-greets, girls in pink “Queen of Carnage” t-shirts would wait alongside ogling fanboys. By 2004, she was the world champion in a sport dominated by men.

Only one thing has eluded her: motherhood.

This is the spellbinding story of how one woman survived child abuse, financial disaster, death-defying injuries, heartbreak, and chaos to emerge triumphant.
