Power. Revenge. Destiny. The Queen of Werewolves is ready to claim them all.
My best friend’s wedding was cancelled and she was arrested. With some smoke and mirrors we got her back, but an emergency called me home before I could get my revenge for her maltreatment.
Jimmy Rain, vile alpha werewolf and power-hungry coward, thought he could attack my stronghold while I was distracted. Big mistake: knowing that Jess is safe, now I’m gunning for him. No more games. He’s about to learn why the sentient seat of power crowned me Queen of Werewolves. I’ll stop at nothing to destroy him ... permanently.
But there’s more at stake than taking down a rival alpha: I need to secure the future of my pack, and that means pulling off a heist to reclaim an ancient magical artefact. There’s one problem: it’s sitting in a dragon-shifter’s hoard and she won’t give it up without a fight.
Prophecies, betrayals and rival alphas stand in my way – but I’ll tear through every one of them. My destiny is calling, and this time I’m answering.
    No more Miss Nice Queen.
Don't miss this werewolf shifter series if you like humour, heart and a strong heroine with a slow burn, loyal-beta fade-to-black romance.

The Flying Stars” is one of Chesterton’s mysteries featuring Father Brown. It’s actually the first of these short stories I’ve read and I picked it up more because it’s a Christmas mystery than to meet Father Brown, even though he is a character I’d like to read more of.
The story takes place at an English manor home on Boxing Day. A young lady and the young man who lives next door are present, as is the girl’s father, Colonel Adams, a newly arrived uncle and a quite rich godfather. Also present, in addition to the servants, simply because the Colonel likes his company is the local priest, Father Brown. The godfather has brought a gift for the young lady, a set of three gorgeous, large diamonds, which he has tucked away in his coat pocket.

Joseph Conrad was a Polish-British writer regarded as one of the greatest novelists to write in the English language. He came to be regarded a master prose stylist who brought a non-English sensibility into English literature. He wrote stories and novels, many with a nautical setting, that depict trials of the human spirit in the midst of what he saw as an impassive, inscrutable universe.Conrad is considered a literary impressionist by some and an early modernist by others, though his works also contain elements of 19th-century realism. His narrative style and anti-heroic characters, as in Lord Jim, for example, have influenced numerous authors. Many dramatic films have been adapted from and inspired by his works. Numerous writers and critics have commented that his fictional works, written largely in the first two decades of the 20th century, seem to have anticipated later world events.Writing near the peak of the British Empire, Conrad drew on the national experiences of his native Poland—during nearly all his life, parceled out among three occupying empires—and on his own experiences in the French and British merchant navies, to create short stories and novels that reflect aspects of a European-dominated world—including imperialism and colonialism—and that profoundly explore the human psyche.

"The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans" is one of the 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is one of eight stories in the cycle collected as His Last Bow, and is the second and final appearance of Mycroft Holmes. Doyle ranked "The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans" fourteenth in a list of his nineteen favourite Sherlock Holmes stories.
The monotony of thick smog-shrouded London is broken by a sudden visit from Holmes' brother Mycroft. He has come about some missing, secret submarine plans. Seven of the ten pages - three are still missing - were found with Arthur Cadogan West's body. He was a young clerk in a government office at Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, whose body was found next to the Underground tracks near the Aldgate tube station, his head crushed. He had little money with him (although there appears to have been no robbery), theatre tickets, and curiously, no Underground ticket. The three missing pages by themselves could enable one of Britain's enemies to build a Bruce-Partington submarine.
