Joyce Carol Oates is one of the most prolific and revered contemporary American writers. She has won numerous awards and her books have sold millions of copies.
The Pursuit is a gloriously creepy, fine-tuned, and stylized short novel. This is the first novel that Joyce has written for The Mysterious Press since her very successful Jack of Spades in 2015.
Oates’s collections and novels for The Mysterious Press continue to garner more and more awards attention. Oates continues to make waves in the press and on social media. In September, she was the subject of a feature in Interview magazine titled “15 Famous Authors Ask Joyce Carol Oates Anything”—authors who posed their questions to Oates included Stephen King, Lorrie Moore, Gyllian Flynn, and Bret Easton Ellis, among others.
