3 Science Fiction stories by the great Gerald Vance: Monsoons of Death is a very nice blend of horror story and a study of true bravery on the planet Mars. A newly commissioned lieutenant finds out a lot about both! In Larson's Luck, Vance takes us on a lighthearted jaunt into hot shot space ship pilots, piracy and the good part of breaking the rules. The last story, Vital Ingredient, takes the listener far into the future when the sport of boxing still has two muscled opponents battling it out in a ring, but they are simply puppets, every muscle, feint and jab controlled by ring side 'managers'; ex fighters who have moved up. The story asks the question: is this how champions are made? And answers it of course in a most satisfying manner.

In these four stories, written between 1900 and 1902, Joseph Conrad bid gradual farewell to his adventurous life at sea and began to confront the more daunting complexities of life on land in the twentieth century. In 'Typhoon' Conrad reveals, in the steadfast courage of an undemonstrative captain and the imaginative readiness of his young first mate, the differences between instinct and intelligence in a partnership vital to human survival. 'Falk', the companion sea-story, contrasts, as Conrad once put it, 'common sentimentalism with the frank standpoint of a more or less primitive man', a man with a conscience, however, about the girl he desires. In one of the 'land-stories' Conrad explores the utter isolation of an East European emigrant in England; in the other, the plight of a woman ironically trapped by the unwitting alliance of two retired widowers - each blind in his own way.

Frederick Ignatius Cowles was born in 1900 in Cambridge, England.
This unfamiliar name is one of the gems of English supernatural fiction as well as several other works of travelogues, history, folklore, and children's books.
When his supernatural short stories, and some are very short indeed, were first published they were compared to the works of M R James and EF Benson, yet unlike those two authors he fell, unfairly, into obscurity.
In all he wrote perhaps 60 short stories with weird and supernatural themes.
Frederick Cowles died in 1948 although some accounts offer that it was 1949.

"Moby Dick" (or "The Whale" as it was one known) is the unforgettable story of Captain Ahab’s quest to avenge the whale that ‘reaped’ his leg. The quest and the novel is a story of how man can become blindly obsessed. The tale is also a testament to democracy and liberation, as the ship's crew work together for a common end.
Ishmael, the novel’s narrator is a young, ordinary sailor learning the practice of whaling.
Moby Dick is one of the greatest novels ever written and a timeless classic.

    Dronethology Three Description
From fire rescues to grand robberies, from swarms on the battlefront to marriage proposals, drones are going to be used everywhere for almost every conceivable thing, and many inconceivable.
In this volume I try to bring as many new ideas as possible; from a man telling the tale how he earned his grubstake to his grandson, to a crew hunting down a the dreaded and feared, Meglodon, off Hawaii.
There is the matter of a very strange hummingbird, to an electronic scarecrow. And then of course there are the corrupt and more corrupt government contracts, the hunt for the ever elusive Yeti, and even some governmental representatives hunting down the ever elusive unicorn.
Come, turn a few pages and see if you can get lost from the real world and slide into mine, at least for a little while and forget what is beyond your door for a bit.
Thank You for investing some of your time with me.
