Sinopse

Séverine Sérizy is a wealthy and beautiful Parisian woman who loves her husband. Yet she cannot bring herself to share physical intimacy with him. Her private fantasies, intense and unsettling even to herself, lead her toward a secret life she never imagined. 
Under the name Belle de Jour, she begins working at a brothel during the afternoons. There she acts out the desires of strangers. Each evening she returns home to her quiet marriage and a husband who suspects nothing. 
Joseph Kessel’s Belle de Jour is a bold and provocative novel about desire, secrecy, and the hidden lives people carry within them. The book later inspired the celebrated film by Luis Buñuel.
