Sinopse

The Black Codex of José Hernández

(Medieval historical fiction novel set in the 11th century A.D.)

Adventure, intrigue, action and excitement in a medieval story.

The Black Codex

The Black Codex is a story of passion, intrigue, and power in a time no longer remembered. It is revealed through the investigations of Raquel, a young engineer who is shocked by a detail in a Romanesque church in the Lleida Pyrenees. Throughout the development of the story, she is accompanied by Xavier Rivas, professor of medieval history at the University of Girona, with whom she begins a very close relationship.

At a time when legend and reality intertwine in the night of time, in 1035, a year of convulsions in general, Wilfred of Berga, his wife and Leodovico, a minstrel who has recently arrived in the region and who brings with him legends from distant lands, will begin a search for the impossible that will defy both reason and faith and will unleash the wrath of the darkest powers.

A powerful portrait of the Middle Ages with main characters such as Oliba, Guillermos de Besalú, the King of Navarre, the Bishop of Urgel... A combination of characters who go to the place where it all began, the Lleida Pyrenees, where it will have a dramatic end as a result of internal struggles between feudal lords, whose entire conflict is recorded in a cursed book: The Black Codex.

Having ascended the throne to become God King of Emberland, Xander Blackfire, the most powerful manipulator of Flame on Xeraxia, must contend with the righteous anger of the Kingdom of Coldwind. That Kingdom on the other side of the treacherous River Reach has suddenly demanded that House Blackfire pay a heavy price for the crimes it has committed against the Frostfolk since the inception of both nations. As a new arrival to planet Xeraxia, King Xander realizes he lacks the context and knowledge he needs to respond properly and fairly to the people of Coldwind. Even still, his ignorance does not erase the debt that his Kingdom owes, nor the threat that now rises across the River because of it. As he wrestles with his own government, and a befouling, existential threat that seeks to destroy the very Equilibrium itself, he must also grapple with haunting visions of the past, queer love, and rebellious citizens who view his reign as heretical. With all the turmoil unfolding in Emberland’s borders, now is the perfect time for Coldwind to strike.

"A Dream of Red Hands" is a short story by Bram Stoker. It was first published in the July 11, 1894 issue of The Sketch: A Journal of Art and Actuality, London.
The first opinion given to me regarding Jacob Settle was a simple descriptive statement, "He's a down-in-the-mouth chap": but I found that it embodied the thoughts and ideas of all his fellow-workmen.

Think you know who Ghost is? Think again.
This is the 5th book in the RBMC Ankeny IA Chapter!
People used to know me as Lucian Stone. I’m a cleaner for the Ankeny RBMC. Some would call me heartless, others might say I’m emotionless. They might be right, but I have two fingers for them.
When I was young and thought I had the world by the tail, Lila Kellerman owned my heart.
Once upon a time we’d been that couple—the epitome of young love. Voted most likely to succeed. Cutest couple. Quintessential small-town-jock meets blonde girl-next-door. Until one night it all went to shit.
At eighteen and two months shy of graduating, the clang of iron bars closing became my background music.
Gone were the boy with a full-ride scholarship for football and the girl with hopes of becoming a veterinarian. In their place was an ex-con and a dead girl.
My name is Ghost, and this is my story.
