"The Final Problem" is a short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring his detective character Sherlock Holmes. It was first published in Strand Magazine under the title "The Adventure of the Final Problem" in December 1893. It appears in book form as part of the collection The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. This story, set in 1891, introduced Holmes's archenemy, the criminal mastermind Professor James Moriarty. Conan Doyle later ranked "The Final Problem" fourth on his personal list of the twelve best Holmes stories.
Holmes arrives at Dr. John Watson's residence one evening in a somewhat agitated state and with grazed and bleeding knuckles. Much to Watson's surprise, he had apparently escaped three separate murder attempts that day after a visit from Professor Moriarty, who warned Holmes to withdraw from his pursuit of justice against him to avoid any regrettable outcome. First, just as he was turning a street corner, a cab suddenly rushed towards him and Holmes just managed to leap out of the way in time. Second, while Holmes was walking along the street, a brick fell from the roof of a house, just missing the detective. He then called the police to search the whole area but could not prove that it was anything other than an accident. Finally, on his way to Watson's house, he was attacked by a thug armed with a cosh. Holmes managed to overcome his assailant and handed him to the police but admitted that there was virtually no hope of proving that the man was in the employ of the criminal mastermind.

Book 4: Surrender to the Sea
Atlantes, a lost city of intrigue to most, is merman Brutus's home, his curse, his prison. Doomed to an immortal life deep in the ocean, their only chance at salvation is to rescue damsels in distress from the surface world and bring them into the abyss. While mythology may label him and his kind monsters, this warrior is simply a man with needs. And he's found the perfect woman to see to them.
    Book 5: Making Waves
When Demon, a merman tasked with patrolling the ocean for humans in distress, comes across a woman anchored to the bottom of the sea, he’s sure his dreams have come true. After all, she’s stunning, single, and makes his body burn with need. She’s also impetuous, being hunted by his enemies, and seriously conflicted on whether or not he’s a good guy. It’s his duty to not only protect her, but to win her heart—because this lonely merman is sure she’s the one for him. Now he just has to convince her.
    Book 6: The Merman King
Lucius, King of the Mermen, and ruler of the city of Atlantes, shoulders the guilt for his people’s curse. After being trapped under the sea for two millennia, the time has come for his people to possibly surface and breathe air. He’s ready to be the first to test the theory, but things do not go as expected when a captivating beauty seemingly falls into his lap—and his ocean.
Is Olivette a present from the gods, or a warning to stay punished beneath the waves where his people belong?

He gave up on sleeping and swung his legs out of bed, wincing as his
weight transferred to his ass. The good doctor had demonstrated the fine
art of plugging an unwilling anus the night before, and if the accompanying
orgasm had been spectacular, it didn’t take away from the fact that his
bottom hole was a tad tender, not to mention his buttocks. That probably
had been the toughest lesson of all, and one that was going to be
repeated a few more times, apparently, but he wasn’t allowed to do
anything with a submissive until he’d experienced everything he planned to
do to them himself. The nipple clamps weren’t his favorite either, but the
thought of Fiona’s pert little ones adorned with…He cut that thought off
mid-hard-on. Fiona was no longer part of his life, and he couldn’t expect
her to participate in such things. Probably why he’d agreed to the training
in the first place, to give himself another reason to keep even her memory
    at arm’s length.

Sea of Tranquility is a sweeping, time-bending novel that explores the fragility of civilization, the persistence of art, and the nature of reality itself. Spanning centuries—from the Canadian wilderness in 1912 to a lunar colony in the far future—the story follows a cast of characters connected by a mysterious anomaly that suggests time may not be as linear as it seems. As pandemics echo across eras and lives intersect in unexpected ways, the novel weaves a haunting meditation on existence, memory, and the enduring human drive to seek meaning in chaos.

Jamie O'Neill loves the color red. He also loves tall trees, patterns, rain that comes with wind, the curvature of certain objects, books with dust jackets, rivers, cats, and Edgar Allan Poe. At age thirteen, there are two things he wants most in life: to build a Perpetual Motion Machine, and to connect with his mother, Noelle, who died when he was born. In his mind, these things are intimately linked, and at his new school, despite the daily barrage of bullies and cathedral bells, he meets two teachers who might be able to help him, though each struggles against inertias of their own.

How to Build a Boat is the story of how one boy's irrepressible dream finds expression through a community propelled by love out of grief. Lyrical and compassionate, it's a novel about the courage of conviction and the power of the imagination to transform—and how sometimes the best way to break free of old walls is to build something beautiful within them.
