Sinopse

Break the Invisible Prison of Perfect Control

Have you built a life that looks successful on the outside while feeling emotionally empty inside? Are you the reliable one everyone counts on, yet you struggle with perfectionism that's never satisfied, chronic depression that resists traditional treatment, or relationships that feel distant despite your caring?

Breaking Free from Overcontrol introduces the revolutionary science of Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), an evidence-based breakthrough specifically designed for overcontrol disorders that trap millions in cycles of emotional suppression and social isolation.

This comprehensive workbook targets:

Treatment-resistant depression unresponsive to conventional therapy approaches

Perfectionism and all-or-nothing thinking that blocks life satisfaction

Emotional numbness and disconnection from authentic inner experience

Social relationships that feel superficial despite genuine desire for connection

Eating disorders driven by control needs rather than body image concerns

Autism spectrum social challenges and communication difficulties

Rigid personality patterns preventing intimacy and spontaneous living

Why this evidence-based approach works: Traditional therapy teaches emotional control to people who already control too much. RO-DBT helps you develop strategic openness and flexible responding. Clinical trials show 71% recovery rates for conditions that previously seemed treatment-resistant.

Master proven techniques through structured practice: ✓ Social signaling skills for authentic connection and warmth ✓ Self-enquiry methods replacing self-criticism with compassionate curiosity ✓ Flexibility training for breaking rigid behavioral and thought patterns ✓ Emotional congruence techniques for matching inner experience with outer expression ✓ Advanced interpersonal skills for building genuine, lasting relationships ✓ Condition-specific strategies for depression, perfectionism, social anxiety, and eating concerns ✓ Complete assessment battery with validated overcontrol measurement tools ✓ Progressive 90-day integration system for sustainable life transformation

Evidence-based workbook format: Every technique includes step-by-step instructions, real-world applications, troubleshooting guidance, and progress tracking tools. Detailed case examples illustrate how these methods work across different life situations and personal challenges.

Transform your greatest strengths into flexible assets: Your conscientiousness, analytical thinking, and high standards become powerful tools for growth when applied with strategic openness rather than rigid control.

Ideal for: Adults struggling with perfectionism, emotional numbness, treatment-resistant depression, social disconnection, eating disorders, or autism spectrum social challenges. Mental health professionals seeking evidence-based client resources will find comprehensive clinical applications.

Your breakthrough begins now. Stop managing life from behind emotional walls and start experiencing the authentic connection, spontaneous joy, and genuine satisfaction you've been missing.

Between 1765 to 1791, the American Revolution was an ideological and political revolution in British America. In the American Revolutionary War (between 1775 to 1783), the Americans in the Thirteen Groups established sovereign countries that beat the British, getting independence from the British Crown and establishing the USA of America, the first modern-day constitutional liberal democracy.
The tax of American settlers by the British Parliament, a body in which they had no direct representation, provided contention. Before the 1760s, Britain's American groups kept a great degree of internal autonomy, which was managed by colonist legislatures on a regional level. The Stamp Act of 1765 enforced internal taxes on the groups, leading to colonist outrage and the development of the Stamp Act Congress, which united members from different provinces. Stress reduced after the British rescinded the Stamp Act but flared again when the Townshend Acts were passed in the year 1767. In the year 1768, the British federal government dispatched soldiers to Boston to stop discontent, which led to the Boston Massacre in the year 1770.
This is the book you would have to read to learn more about the American Revolution. Go ahead and continue.

Since John Hersey's Hiroshima, very few books have examined the meaning and impact of World War II through the eyes of Japanese men and women who survived that conflict. Tattered Kimonos in Japan does just that: It is an intimate journey into contemporary Japan from the perspective of the generation of Japanese soldiers and civilians who survived World War II, by a writer whose American father and Japanese father-in-law fought on opposite sides of the conflict.

Mindful of the power of victimhood, memory, and shared suffering, he travels across Japan, including Hiroshima and Nagasaki, meeting a compelling group of men and women whose lives, even now, are defined by the trauma of war, and by lingering questions of responsibility and repentance for Japan's wartime aggression.

The image of a tattered kimono from Hiroshima is the thread that drives the narrative arc of this emotional story about a writer's encounter with history, inside the Japan of his father's generation, on the other side of his father's war. This is a book about history with elements of family memoir. It offers a fresh and truly unique perspective for listeners interested in World War II, Japan, or Judaica; listeners seeking cross-cultural journeys; and listeners intrigued by Japanese culture, particularly the kimono.

The concept of international trade was born in the ancient Mediterranean, which provided the perfect set of circumstances needed to produce an intricate trading system whose influence can still be seen in present-day economic practices. The ancient Mediterranean was home to a diverse range of cultures and landscapes, encompassing deserts, forests, islands and fertile plains. Different natural resources were available in different geographical areas, and with the advent of sailing ships around 3000 BCE, people were suddenly able to travel much further afield than ever before. This created an opportunity to trade local resources in international markets in exchange for exotic goods not available at home. At the same time, this shift in Mediterranean trade from a local to international scale was a catalyst for immense social, political and economic changes that helped to shape the course of Western Civilization as a whole. Ancient trade in the Mediterranean brought cultures into increasingly close contact with one another, and just as in the globalized world today, these cross-cultural influences came to shape the development of belief systems, languages, economics, politics, and art throughout wide expanses of land.
Over the centuries, the profits generated from trade helped establish wealthy nations and fuel economic development across the sea. By taxing imports and exports, governments could afford large infrastructure projects, like the construction of roads and harbors, which in turn helped to further increase trade and wealth. As a result, wars were fought for control of important trade routes and to maintain access to crucial commodities such as grain and precious metals. Economics became a primary consideration when establishing government policies and dealing with international relations. Some cities, most notably Rome and Athens, even built empires on the back of their mercantile success.

"Where did all the decent men go?" is a question you hear everywhere. But it’s the wrong question to ask. The better question is, “Why did all the decent men go on strike?" In Men on Strike (2013), Helen Smith offers an answer.
Smith asserts that there is a real war on men in modern culture. The majority of men might not discuss it or even believe that a "democratic" country would judge them without due process or accountability. Yet, in today's anti-male society, this is happening to most males. As a result, men have opted out, going on strike rather than having to face a ruthless attack on their gender. Smith details the legal, educational, and cultural war on men and suggests how society can remedy it, warning that if we don't, our culture will be forever changed.
