Sinopsis

Mortification of Sin is a book by the English theologian John Owen in which he discusses human's unceasing battle against the immorality in them. Owen argues that a believing Christian can't win in this battle on his own, using his strength. He believes that the only way this battle can be won is with the help of God and through the sheer faith. Owen presents convincing case for the importance of mortification establishing some basic and iconic verities concerning the significance of sin in believers and provides answers and instructions on how can these issues can be dealt with the power of the Spirit and through faith in Christ.

Can vengeance against an ancient enemy wash away her centuries of shame?
They come from the smoky depths of Hell’s Pit. Remnants of the shattered Pious Legion, these hateful castoffs of Earth’s Roman Empire, seek to conquer. Armed with maddening gas, Maximinus Thrax’s airships swarm the skies like vengeful locusts, reducing entire populations to ash.
For Boudica, the forgotten Queen of the Iceni, it’s a familiar fate. Having failed against Nero on Earth, her civilization was wiped from history due to her backfired efforts of liberation.
As Thrax’s assault eliminates the peaceful enclaves of New Dis, what can the failed warrior queen do to protect her city, the innocent peoples within, and her beloved friends? Will Boudica shake off her anonymous refuge and crushing shame to face the Romans once more, or collapse into the dust of history once more?

You were born to lead. Now it's time to become a leader. Leaders may be found in boardrooms, but they may also be found in families, schools, and organizations of all kinds—anywhere people interact, nurture, create, or build.  Contrary to popular opinion, leadership is not meant for an elite group of people who, by fate or accident, become leaders while everyone else is consigned to being a lifelong follower.  After personally training thousands of leaders from around the world, best-selling author Dr. Myles Munroe reports that while every person possesses the potential of leadership, many do not understand how to cultivate the leadership nature and how to apply it to their lives. In The Spirit of Leadership, Dr. Munroe defines the unique attitudes that all effective leaders exhibit, explains how to eliminate hindrances to your leadership abilities, and helps you to fulfill your particular calling in life.

A Human-Shaped God approaches the humanlike accounts of God in the Old Testament as the starting places for theology and uses them to build a picture of the divine. This understanding of God is then brought into conversation with traditional conceptions that depict God as a being who knows everything that happens, is at every place at the same time, is constant and unchanging, and does not ultimately have material form. But instead of pitting the Old Testament's humanlike view of God against traditional theology and assuming that only one of these understandings is correct, A Human-Shaped God posits that theologians should embrace both of these constructions simultaneously.

This is a new way of theological inquiry that embraces both the humanlike characteristics of God and the transcendence of God in traditional theology. By seeing and understanding the humanlike depictions of God in the Old Testament and by using the rich language of traditional theology together in tandem, the listener acquires a much deeper and meaningful understanding of God.

"Freedom is a choice. It’s a much tougher choice than most people realize, because real freedom starts with what you choose to believe. Of course, you have a conscious ability by an act of your will to decide what to believe is true, and you do that every day, all day long. But the majority of your decisions are actually made at the subconscious level. Deep below the surface of your conscious mind is where strongholds are built.
Strongholds that harbor false beliefs can create tremendous life long damage in your relationships, and they can destroy your ability to live a productive and happy life. False beliefs that empower destructive strongholds can come from early childhood experiences, parents, family members, education, and other influences.
I dare you to listen this book. Truth has a way of crashing violently through all barriers imposed by lies, and there are plenty of lies that have been constructed carefully in the fortresses of our minds by educators, parents, Hollywood, politicians, government, and even pastors.
Destroying strongholds in your mind is life changing, and the practical applications go way beyond your personal mental and emotional and spiritual freedom, as if that wasn’t enough to be motivated. Do you want to see people as they really are, so you can have insight into their beliefs and why they do what they do? Do you want to see the world more clearly and be able to put current events in a proper perspective? Do you want to get rid of the anxieties and fear that have interfered with your peace and contentment in life?
Then destroy the strongholds in your mind. You have no idea how powerful and wonderful this will be in your life until you begin the process. Take courage, because the outcome is well worth the effort.

The Islamic Golden Age, which spanned from the 8th to the 13th century, was a period of extraordinary cultural, intellectual, and scientific development within the Islamic world. This flourishing era was deeply rooted in the foundational principles of Islam, where the pursuit of knowledge, the preservation of classical texts, and the quest for understanding the natural world were seen as acts of divine service. The Islamic civilization, during this time, became the beacon of knowledge and scholarship, laying the groundwork for significant advances in various fields that would influence the world for centuries to come.
The foundation of this golden age can be traced back to the establishment of the early Islamic empire, starting with the Rashidun Caliphate and continuing through the Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates. Under the Abbasids, particularly, the capital city of Baghdad became a hub of intellectual activity and learning. The Abbasid caliphs, especially during the reign of Caliph Harun al-Rashid and his successors, recognized the importance of knowledge and promoted the translation of Greek, Persian, and Indian texts into Arabic. This movement, known as the translation movement, brought works of classical antiquity, such as those of Aristotle, Galen, and Ptolemy, to Islamic scholars. These translated texts formed the basis of advanced research in fields like philosophy, mathematics, and medicine.
At the heart of the Islamic intellectual renaissance was the House of Wisdom (Bayt al-Hikma), an institution established in Baghdad that became a center for scholars from diverse backgrounds. The House of Wisdom hosted translators, philosophers, mathematicians, astronomers, and doctors who would carry out research and engage in dialogue that bridged cultures and philosophies. This institution was instrumental in the synthesis of knowledge from different civilizations, fostering an environment of intellectual collaboration and exchange.
