Sinopsis

In "Hyperion," John Keats explores profound themes of beauty, mortality, and the struggle for poetic transcendence, weaving a tapestry of lush Romantic imagery and deep philosophical inquiry. This unfinished epic poem draws inspiration from classical mythology, particularly the Titan Hyperion, embodying a narrative steeped in the tension between the sublime and the human condition. Keats employs a rich, lyrical style that fuses personal anguish with universal truths, set against the backdrop of an evolving 19th-century literary landscape that sought to reconcile the spiritual and the material. John Keats, an emblematic figure of the Romantic period, faced significant personal challenges, including the death of loved ones and his own declining health, which profoundly influenced his creative output. His deep appreciation for beauty—both in nature and art—is evident in "Hyperion," revealing his quest for meaning amid the turmoil of existence. Keats's engagement with Hellenistic themes reflects his desire to elevate the human experience through poetic expression, establishing a legacy that resonates through the ages. "Hyperion" is an indispensable read for anyone interested in Romantic literature, offering insights into Keats's thought processes and emotional resilience. The poem's exploration of the artist's plight parallels contemporary struggles, making it timeless in its appeal. Readers will find themselves captivated by Keats's lyrical genius and the haunting beauty of his unfinished vision.

This haunting collection of 15 spoken word pieces penned by a widely published poet interweaves with sound design to create evocative and richly colored works of the imagination. Surreal, with a hint of the fairy tale, crossing grittiness and darkness with sweetness and light, the stories and images seem to emerge from the dream state. The sound design includes original music, found sound, field recordings and electronics, providing a soundscape for the poetry. This highly original, multi-layered confluence of language and sound can be experienced intimately for the depth of its content, or enjoyed lightly for its strange dreamy atmosphere.

I wrote most of these poems while the memories of a woman from my past scraped at my mind.
I've learned to accept that life is about overcoming desire and finding peace in not getting what you want, but I'm only human, which means sometimes I enjoy entertaining an erotic, morbid, desperate, and painfully hopeful side of me when the mood strikes.
My bottom line is this: if you've ever loved someone too much, or missed someone you couldn't forget, this modest collection of words and ideas might feel familiar.

This debut collection of poems, composed with no thought to commercial publication and discovered by Green Writers Press by happenstance, addresses events in the poet' s life that every reader can relate to — friendships, the beginning, middle, and end of romantic relationships, and the death of a loved one. And they do so with " stiletto-sharp" metaphors — " rosebuds stillborn in the falling snow" — and wry observations — " Trying Again: Like an old shoe comfortable for a while but still causing blisters" — that evoke from the reader a knowing nod and sometimes an outright laugh. Short, disarming, crafted with carefully calibrated rhythms and innovative rhymes, these poems " skulk in the grass" and, while your guard is down, " barge right in" to your consciousness, uninvited guests.
