Brilliant engineer and ham radio operator Antwan devises transceivers capable of exceptional accuracy. Eager to test his innovation, he recruits geophysicist student Lauren, who together unwittingly stumble upon a singular frequency that seems to defy the very laws of physics. Intrigued and bewildered, they seek the expertise of retired professor and amateur radio astronomer, Dr. Daniel Sullivan, who confirms their discovery.
The trio decides to unveil their findings to the world through a TED talk, where Dr. Sullivan dubs their discovery "the God frequency" for its apparent omnipotence, igniting a media frenzy and capturing the attention of government entities wary of the implications. In response, the government confiscates Antwan's transceivers and begins the process of regulating the newfound frequency anomaly and technologies to access it under the jurisdiction of the Federal Communications Commission
Unbeknownst to Dr. Sullivan, the God frequency has attracted interest beyond scientific circles. A foreign agent intent on obtaining the frequency and an extremist with a dangerous vendetta separately take up pursuit. As the two threats converge, chaos ensues with Dr. Sullivan at the center. Just as tensions rise and intentions clash, a vigilant government agent is compelled to spring into action.

From the inimitable mind of award-winning author Jesse Ball, a novel about an unsettlingly familiar society that has renounced the concept of equality—and the devastating consequences of unmitigated power.
The old-fashioned struggle for fairness has finally been abandoned. It was a misguided endeavor. The world is divided into two groups, pats and quads. The pats may kill the quads as they like, and do. The quads have no recourse but to continue with their lives.
The Divers’ Game is a thinly veiled description of our society, an extreme case that demonstrates a truth: we must change or our world will collapse.
What is the effect of constant fear on a life, or on a culture? The Divers’ Game explores the consequences of violence through two festivals, and through the dramatic and excruciating examination of a woman’s final moments.
Brilliantly constructed and achingly tender, The Divers’ Game shatters the notion of common decency as the binding agent between individuals, forcing us to consider whether compassion is intrinsic to the human experience. With his signature empathy and ingenuity, Jesse Ball’s latest work solidifies his reputation as one of contemporary fiction’s most mesmerizing talents.

Sit back and listen to these light-hearted witty rhymes and see the world Jonathan Swift saw -- and maybe recognize your own. Think there is such a thing as corrupt rich guys who pretend they're God's gift to the world? So did Swift. Think some of these types strut around as if calls of nature don't apply to them? So did Swift. In one hilarious poem, he even describes gold diggers fighting over the loaded gentleman's gaseous offerings! His poem On Poetry, A Rhapsody, censored for treasonous mocking of the royal family, is in its rare uncensored form here. As free as he himself is with his sharp tongue against the blackened rich and corrupt , he knows others might have to kiss up to eat. So he includes many verses of advice on how to go about lying for a living, for example, "Your interest lies to learn the knack Of whitening what before was black." Despite the decay and hypocrisy he sees all around him he stays upbeat throughout -- even making fun out of his own tragic onset of deafness. You already know this giant of English literature for the great feast of prose he left us. Think of these delicious poems here as your sinful dessert. - Summary by Arthur Krolman
