  My name is Jack Pilton and I moved into one of those lovely old terraced houses that Cornwall is so famous for in a village called Little Trumpington. Low beamed ceilings and thick walls with stone stairs worn with thousands of shoes over hundreds of years. I'm not wealthy but I've enough for a comfortable lifestyle supported by the romantic novels I write for Amazon.  
  Soon after I arrived in the village I was asked if the local women’s group could use my lounge for their weekly card game and I was welcome to join in if I could play whist. The previous owner had been happy to let the group play in the modernised lounge that had been knocked through into the dining room and kitchen, so there was plenty of room. I didn’t see any reason not to let them play there. 
  I was very soon swept away with the game but more importantly the forfeits that the losers agreed to. The winners would spank the losers but as I was the only man in the group I eventually did all the spanking.  
  That was all eight months ago and since then spanking has become such a part of the women’s group that we had a spanking stall at the village fete a couple of weeks ago. After that, I proposed marriage to Mary who seemed to be the leader of the group and she accepted. 
  In this book, more women join the group and I have to spank them all. In addition, Samantha’s daughter Primrose is spanked three times and my neighbour is spanked as well. Finally, Mary and I get married and I spank all the ladies at the wedding naked which produces some wonderful wedding photos.

  Mary Frances Butts was born on 13th December 1890 in Poole, Dorset. 
  Her early years were spent at Salterns, an 18th-century house overlooking Poole Harbour.  Sadly in 1905 her father died, and she was sent for boarding at St Leonard's school for girls in St Andrews. 
  Her mother remarried and, from 1909, Mary studied at Westfield College in London, and here, first became aware of her bisexual feelings.  She was sent down for organising a trip to Epsom races and only completed her degree in 1914 when she graduated from the London School of Economics.  By then Mary had become an admirer of the occultist Aleister Crowley and she was given a co-authorship credit on his ‘Magick (Book 4)’. 
  In 1916, she began the diary which would now detail her future life and be a constant reference point for her observations and her absorbing experiences. 
  During World War I, she was doing social work for the London County Council in Hackney Wick, and involved in a lesbian relationship.  Life changed after meeting the modernist poet, John Rodker and they married in 1918. 
  In 1921 she spent 3 months at Aleister Crowley's Abbey of Thelema in Sicily; she found the practices dreadful and also acquired a drug habit.  Mary now spent time writing in Dorset, including her celebrated book of short stories ‘Speed the Plough’ which saw fully develop her unique Modernist prose style. 
  Europe now beckoned and several years were spent in Paris befriending many artists and writing further extraordinary stories.   
  She was continually sought after by literary magazines and also published several short story collections as books. Although a Modernist writer she worked in other genres but is essentially only known for her short stories.  Mary was deeply committed to nature conservation and wrote several pamphlets attacking the growing pollution of the countryside. 
  In 1927, she divorced and the following year her novel ‘Armed with Madness’ was published.  A further marriage followed in 1930 and time was spent attempting to settle in London and Newcastle before setting up home on the western tip of Cornwall.  By 1934 the marriage had failed. 
  Mary Butts died on 5th March 1937, at the West Cornwall Hospital, Penzance, after an operation for a perforated gastric ulcer. She was 46.

  Elizabeth Burgoyne Corbett was born on the 16th August 1846 at Standishgate, near Wigan. 
  After a good education she worked as a journalist for the Newcastle Daily Chronicle and went on to become a widespread and popular writer of adventure and society novels. 
  As a feminist writer it is a little bizarre that she published as Mrs George Corbett.  Her most ardent feminist work was ‘New Amazonia: A Foretaste of the Future,’ though other of her works were also similarly themed and dealt with one of the great issues of the day in Victorian society. 
  She married George Corbett in Sheffield in 1868.  They went on to have 4 children, of which only 3 survived. 
  As a writer she was not overly prolific but was perhaps most admired for her female detectives.  During her literary career Detective books were all the rage and authors of both sexes attempted to bring new and unusual angles of characters and narratives before the voracious public.   
  Corbett’s first was in a collection of short stories ‘Adventures of a Lady Detective featuring Dora Bell'.  A later novel introduced a further detective in the guise of Annie Cory. 
  Elizabeth Corbett died on in 1930.
