Sinopse

The Urantia Book was originally published in 1955 and was written in the 1930's to early 1950's. I love this book but it contained many obsolete and outdated concepts and ideas. When the book became public domain after 2006 and was available online, I decided to update the book and add new perspectives and ideas that I believe make it a better vehicle for spiritual enlightenment.

The Miracles of Jesus Christ and...

In John 21:25, the writer and youngest Apostle of the twelve reminds us: the miraculous works of Jesus Christ in his thirty-three prolific years on Earth are too numerous to be counted. "If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written," states the New International Version of John's verse.
In The Miracles of Jesus Christ and His Apostles in the Bible: Divine Miracles with a Divine Purpose, pastor and author Alfred Cherubim takes a chronological look at the thirty-seven miracles of Jesus Christ recorded in the New Testament, throughout the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Beginning with the wedding feast in Cana where Jesus turned the water into wine and ending with His second catch of fish at the Sea of Tiberias, Cherubim provides the beloved Bible verses that describe each supernatural act of the Messiah.
One by one, in a growing crescendo, the miracles of Jesus unfold before readers' eyes and hearts, only to be followed by nineteen additional divine acts performed by His disciples-ordinary men aside from their association and communion with Jesus.
From Peter walking on water (Matthew 14:28-31) to Paul healing the sick on the island of Malta (Acts 28:9-10), Cherubim tells the reader to remember: in the end, all miracles are God's miracles.
As such, all are signs-accompanied by a message-that either meet a dire human need or confirm Jesus' identity and authority as the Son of God. The author reminds the reader that all Jesus' wondrous acts and those of His Apostles, although singular and extraordinary, exist for one divine reason. In the end, all miracles direct us to behold God's love, power, glory, and mercy, as they carry the ultimate message of eternal salvation to the beholder.

While his masterpiece On the Road languished on the desks of unresponsive editors, Kerouac turned to Buddhism, and in 1953 began writing reading notes on the subject intended for his friend Allen Ginsberg. As his Buddhist study and meditation practice intensified, what had begun as notes evolved into a vast, all-encompassing work of nonfiction into which he poured his life, incorporating poems, haiku, prayers, journal entries, fragments of letters, ideas about writing, sketches, and more. The final manuscript, completed in 1956, was as visually complex as the writing: each page was unique, typed in patterns and interlocking shapes. The elaborate form that Kerouac so painstakingly gave his books is recreated in this typeset facsimile.
Passionate, playful, ecstatic, filled with humor, insight, beautiful language, sorrow, and struggle, Some of the Dharma is a far-ranging and extremely revealing work.
"Kerouac's work represents the most extensive experiment in language and literary form undertaken by an American writer of his generation." -THE NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW

    What Is The Rapture -...

    Is the Rapture a Pre-Tribulation, Mid-Tribulation or Post-Tribulation event?
There are few prophesies in the Bible that have sparked as much debate as the timing of the rapture. It is amazing that there are so many views on this matter when presumably we all read from the same book. There are three fundamental beliefs on this matter, and they are.
    1. The Pre-tribulation Rapture.
The understanding here is that God’s elect will be taken up into Heaven before the last seven years of the “church age”. This seven years is commonly known as the tribulation. And the last three and a half years are the “great tribulation”. At the end of this time, Jesus Christ will return to the earth in great power and glory and will set up His kingdom on the earth.
    2. The Mid-tribulation Rapture.
The second idea is the rapture event will only happen at the halfway mark of the tribulation. Three and a half years from the commencement of the tribulation.
    3. The Post-tribulation Rapture.
And the final thought is the rapture will not happen until the very end of the “church age”. Until all seven years of the tribulation have passed. When these seven years are completed, Jesus will return in His Father’s glory to rule all nations.
Obviously, there can only be one correct answer. The aim of this brook is to explore in the “Word Of God”, or His Holy Bible, what God Himself has to say on this matter.
I know that whatever I say, many will disagree with my thoughts. But I have spent many hours studying this prophecy and have come to my own conclusions. I believe the bible was written to be understood by simple people who do not have a vast knowledge of the scriptures. Otherwise, it would be impossible for the average bible reader to know what God is trying to reveal to them. A thorough understanding of the bible only comes with many years of dedicated study, something many people are not prepared to do.

Recovering the Wisdom of Early Christian Figures to Effectively Shepherd Modern Churches
In addition to the regular demands of preaching and shepherding, modern pastors feel undue pressure to entertain congregants and increase attendance numbers. Often, churches resort to the latest business models to keep pace. But true, life-giving guidance lies in Scripture and the wisdom of those having come before us.

Ancient Wisdom for the Care of Souls helps pastors to embrace a classic, biblical vision of ministry through the study of selected pastoral virtues and early church figures. Gregory of Nyssa and Gregory the Great both referred to ministry as "the care of souls." Calling for a "return to the sources," professors Coleman M. Ford and Shawn J. Wilhite ponder what a scriptural vision of ministry is, how patristic voices help inform this vision, and how pastors today can cultivate this pastoral vision in their churches. Each chapter examines an important pastoral topic—such as humility, the sacraments, and contemplative theology—and brings it to life through a constructive model and profiles of early church fathers. Encouraged by the patristic wisdom of Irenaeus, Athanasius, John Chrysostom, and more, readers learn a simple and slower model for pastoring that they can emulate as they care for their communities. A slower pace of life may, in fact, help pastors cultivate the soil of souls more richly and, as a result, return to ministry as "the care of souls."
