Synopsis

The Urantia Book was originally published in 1955 and was written in the 1930's to early 1950's. I love this book but it contained many obsolete and outdated concepts and ideas. When the book became public domain after 2006 and was available online, I decided to update the book and add new perspectives and ideas that I believe make it a better vehicle for spiritual enlightenment.

Our country doesn't have a partisan problem, a political problem, a social problem, or an economic problem. We have a spiritual problem.

As Christianity has been pushed aside, the Progressive Left has developed a new pagan religion. But the radical roots of the new secular religion are ancient. We've seen it all before. In You Shall Be as Gods, Erick Erickson traces the religion's roots from Paganism and Gnosticism through the Age of Enlightenment all the way into the Postmodernism of the twenty-first century. At the heart of the ancient religion is a self-centered culture.

The Christian church today has been weakened by compromising with the neo-pagan religion, leaving the faithful ill-prepared to counter the claims of society's present-day doctrine. Yet there remains a significant remnant in America that refuses to bow to the rising belief system.

Just as in Rome and countless societies throughout history, the religions present two opposing stories of reality which necessitates conflict. In an era where the "Christian thing" to do seems to be to go along and get along, Erickson makes clear that the two cultures cannot peacefully coexist and calls the listener to speak the truth in love.

God has a plan to make your life count for eternity. Stop wasting it. You want your life to matter. To mean something. But if you’re like most people, you probably don’t have a compelling answer to the question, “What are you going to do with your life?”   In this book, J.D. Greear considers Jesus’ radical call to give your life away to the greatest cause of all. To view your life from the perspective of eternity. To start making decisions now that you’ll be glad you made then. It’s time to put your “yes” on the table and let God put it on the map.

The pressure of being a teenager can be overwhelming. School, sports, jobs, and relationships all press in at the same time. But the hardest thing can be feeling alone, that you have no one to share your most difficult problems with. In The Jesus I Wish I Knew in High School, thirty authors from many different backgrounds come together to say, “We get it―and Jesus gets it too. Here’s who Jesus is and how he wants to meet you in this intense time.”   Hear from authors such as Scott Sauls, Sandra McCracken, Michelle Reyes, Jen Pollock Michel, David Zahl, and others as they share firsthand stories of bullying, eating disorders, pregnancy, addiction, racism, family conflict, expectations, and the intense pressure to achieve. See how their encounters with Jesus brought healing, rest, and purpose to their lives and hear what they wish they knew earlier: when you know Jesus, you know what it’s like to be perfectly loved and accepted, have hope for the future, and experience grace and mercy when you mess up.    Edited by Cameron Cole and Charlotte Getz of Rooted Ministry, The Jesus I Wish I Knew in High School, will help you discover the love, freedom, affection, and acceptance we all so desperately long for―in Jesus.
