Summary

An alternative world where prohibition never ended and in fact expanded to include firearms and tobacco. Twenty years after the fall of Capone and the rise to fame of Eliot Ness comes a new group of Treasury agents named the "Untouchables". Here, the rag-time bunch of misfits and sharpshooters are out to take their city back. In this new puritan era, gambling seems to be the only vice allowed by law, so casinos have sprouted up, rivaling the neon-glory days of Las Vegas. Gun fights, car chases, informants, gangsters, cops, nightclubs and sexy dames galore can be found in this hard-boiled alternative take on the days of the Mob. Collects issues 1-5. From Joe Pruett (X-Men Unlimited), John Kissee (MAD Magazine, Raven Chronicles), Chris Dreier (Angel, Crossed)
Available since: 07/13/2016.

Zeddy Lawrence once said, "It may not be true in all cases, but it's a pretty good rule of thumb. If the word 'man' appears at the end of someone's name you can draw one of two conclusions: a) they're Jewish, as in Goldman, Feldman, or Lipman; or b) they're a superhero, as in Superman, Batman, or Spider-Man."In Superman Is Jewish? Harry Brod reveals the links between Jews and superheroes in a penetrating investigation of iconic comic book figures. He describes how the role of each hero reflects the evolution of the Jewish place in American culture-an alien in a foreign land, like Superman; a figure plagued by guilt for not having saved his family, like Spider-Man; outsiders persecuted for being different (X-Men); a nice, smart guy afraid people won't like him when he's angry (the Hulk). Brod blends humor and sharp observation as he considers these well-known figures' overtly and discreetly Jewish characteristics and talks about how their creators-including Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster, Stan Lee, and Jack Kirby-integrated their Jewish identities and their creativity. His lively guided tour takes us from the Passover Haggadah's exciting action scenes of Moses's superpowers to acclaimed Pulitzer Prize winners and overseas animators.Brod has written and lectured extensively on this fun and provocative topic and through his expertise explores the deeper story of how one immigrant group can influence the larger culture through entertainment and, in the process, see itself in new, more empowering ways. Not just for comic book fans, Superman Is Jewish? is a story of America, and is as poignant as it is fascinating.

If you have fashion in writing and you want to learn How to Write a Novel, then get a copy of this guide.
The writing process is a little bit different from one person to the next, but fundamentally, it's very similar. When someone sits down to write, there tends to be an awkward "uninspired" moment in the beginning, when you begin to get over the doubt and the thoughts of not knowing what to say and then jump into it anyway. Usually once you've gotten a few sentences out - sometimes a paragraph or two - you suddenly slip into "the zone", that inspired and motivated place where the work comes out effortlessly and you can just keep going for pages and pages.
This book isn't about telling you how to write or making assumptions that everyone goes through the same process. Quite the contrary - I'd like to point out right now that not every writer will follow a process. Some follow no process at all. I'm here to simply share some things that work for me and help me to keep my ideas and thoughts organized so the stories make sense. There are a number of ways to do that, and I'll cover some of my favorites.
Most people write for themselves, and many people don't necessarily publish a book. But those who want to write a novel and are intimidated by the idea are the people I'm writing this book for.
One of the questions I ask myself the most is, "Why is it so hard to stay inspired?" Maybe you get stuck on a part of the book or the thought of 90,000 words scares you. Either way, there are some little tricks and activities you can do in order to maintain a steady focus and inspiration.
HowExpert publishes quick 'how to' guides on all topics from A to Z by everyday experts.

The troublemaking students of Ms. Jenkins' class arrive at school one day to discover a substitute creacher has come to put a stop to their monkey business! He regales them with mind-boggling stories about his former students who didn't follow the rules: Keith the glue-eater, Zach the daydreamer, and Hank the prankster, to name a few. But even this multi-tentacled, yellow-spotted, one-eyed monster's cautionary tales about the consequences of mischief-making can't seem to change the students' wicked ways until he reveals the spookiest and most surprising story of all: his own.
Chris Gall's vibrant artwork leaps off the page with a dynamic comic book aesthetic that will grab both parents and monster-loving kids!
