Sinopsis

The day you decide that your life is your own is the best day of your life. There will be no apologies or excuses. There was no one to lean on, rely on, or point the finger at. The gift is yours, it's an incredible journey, and you're solely responsible for its quality. This is the first day of your life. Having a purpose in life is one of the most fundamental human needs. Ikigai, a Japanese concept, means "a reason for being." It refers to living a fulfilling life. Many different activities can provide people with a sense of purpose in life. These activities can range from volunteering to providing social support to older people and even caring for pets, all linked to increased happiness, better health outcomes, and longer lifespan.Everyone is equipped with an ikigai. Your ikigai is the reason you get up in the morning, the reason you want to live fully and cheerfully. Your ikigai isn't something you make up; it's something you're born with. The Japanese believe that discovering one's ikigai necessitates a long, contemplative search that can lead to life satisfaction and meaning. All you have to do is dig far enough to locate it. Your ikigai lies at the crossroads of four circles: what you enjoy, what the world requires, what you can be compensated for, and what you're skilled at.

    ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
In Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick, the bounty hunter Rick Deckard is tasked with retiring a group of escaped androids. In a future world ravaged by war and radioactive fallout, where most humans have emigrated to off-world colonies, the lines between humans and androids become blurred. As Deckard hunts the androids, he questions what it truly means to be human. The story explores themes of empathy, identity, and the search for meaning in a world where technology and artificiality challenge the very essence of life. The novel grapples with ethical questions about the treatment of androids and the value of both artificial and authentic life.

“Kids are great. It’s a unique process that everyone should experience.” Except that today, 1 in 20 French people refuse to have children. What are the reasons for this “voluntary infertility?”
Do we really know why we have children? Isn’t having children an obstacle to personal and professional development? In an overpopulated and polluted world, isn’t it selfish to take up too much space by having a family? Don’t children cost too much to individuals and to society?
The author investigates with dozens of women and men for whom the “duty to procreate” rings hollow. Among these “non-parents” are exclusive lovers, artists, careerists, religious people, traumatized children, eternal teenagers, environmentalists, convinced Malthusians, as well as feminist activists who have made their refusal to give birth a standard, in order to assert themselves in a society that praises all mothers and family values.
