Sinopse

Words of Encouragement for Christians Who Doubt Their Salvation
Countless Christians are weighed down with fear that God doesn't truly love them. Although they have heard and affirmed the gospel, repented of their sins, and turned to Christ, the depths of their sin or long stretches of suffering have eroded away any sense of assurance. Is it possible for Christians to be confident in their salvation?
With pastoral wisdom, Jeremy Pierre encourages doubt-filled Christians with the truths of Scripture. He shifts their perspective to see themselves as God sees them, comforts their hearts with the abundant love initiated by God, and teaches them to receive this love through the gifts Christ has given them: God's word, prayer, and the fellowship of the church. Readers will learn to find rest in the unlimited knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.

- Short, Accessible Format: A helpful resource for church leaders to give to Christians who are doubting their salvation
- Sympathetic and Pastoral: Written by a pastor and counselor who has helped many people wrestling with assurance of salvation and has experienced this struggle himself
- Biblical: Encourages believers with the writings of the apostle John to uncertain Christians

It’s a known fact that most butterflies struggle getting their wings. It seems as if the pain of leaving the cocoon is often times just too much to bear. However, without this experience, the butterfly will never gain the strength to fly. So even in the midst of all of the pain and strife, the butterfly presses on anyway. But what happens to the butterflies that don’t leave the cocoon? Do they just go back to being plain old caterpillars? Or due to the absence of their wings, do they become crippled for life? If truth be told, most people float through life just like this. With the pain of the past just harboring too close to home, many people stumble through life too afraid to step over their failures, to cut ties with their pain, or even to fly by their heartaches. But no matter how hard they try to avoid confronting these issues, they can never grow into the person that God has called them to be without it. As I turned this truth into reality, I begin to write this piece. This book deals with the lives of two young ladies (Taja and Nicki) who come from very different backgrounds. Just as butterflies struggle to leave the cocoon, both of these young ladies are struggling to press their way through life. They’ve allowed their past situations to cripple them in their growth emotionally and in their walk with God spiritually. Through an unusual twist of events, both Taja and Nicki will learn that both redemption and love are possible for those who believe. As the story unfolds, they’ll finally learn how it feels to spread their wings and fly.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV)

The Thoughts of the Cure D'Ars is the most beautiful, simple, and inspiring statement of practical Catholic wisdom that most of us will likely ever read. Consisting of short, profound sayings, almost comparable to the proverbs in the Bible, this little book reflects perfectly its simple but holy author, St. John Vianney.
Jean-Marie Baptiste Vianney (1786-1859) was popularly known as the Cure of Ars, or the parish priest of Ars, which is a small farmer's village north of Lyons, France. Though of poor education, the Cure of Ars was very intelligent and well versed in the Faith. He rose to great sanctity, converted thousands of souls to Christ, became famous throughout the Catholic world, and in 1929 Pope Pius XI proclaimed him "Patron Saint of Parish Priests" worldwide! This little book is a sample of his sanctity and wisdom.

Returning to the topic of her beloved classic bestseller A Return to Love, spiritual guide Marianne Williamson builds on the ideas introduced in that book to lead us toward the light through the inspiring guidance of the mystic Jesus.
In A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles, Marianne Williamson revealed how we each become miracle-workers when expressing love and forgiveness in our everyday lives. With The Mystic Jesus, Williamson reveals the role of Jesus in the teachings of the Course.
For many, Jesus has become a precious relic, revered yet lacking the immediacy of authentic spiritual force. In The Mystic Jesus, Williamson writes of a Jesus who transcends both glib imagery and outdated religious dogma. She writes not only of an historical Messiah but of a spirit alive in all of us today.
Williamson brings to The Mystic Jesus her talent at making the densest theological theories relevant to our everyday lives. She merges psychological and religious understanding, presenting Jesus as a guide to another way of thinking, therefore the builder of another kind of world. The Jesus in The Mystic Jesus truly is, in the words of St. Augustine, “ever ancient, ever new.”
The Jesus presented here is a radical love, an ever-present teacher, an evolutionary elder brother, and a savior from the fear-based, twisted thinking that dominates our world. The Mystic Jesus is both theological and practical, signature Williamson in both its intellectual clarity and emotional impact.
