Sinopsis

The year is 2300 AC. The fourth planet in our solar system, Mars, had already been inhabited for over a hundred years. A young, ambitious generation was developing here. One of the young Martians was Cailan Count. He had a sister, Fia. She and her fiancé belonged to a community known for collective nostalgia. They truly internalized the good old days, the golden age before colonization. Accordingly, they had chosen a renowned but very old hotel for their wedding reception. It was said to be the first hotel on Mars, built directly after terraforming. This is where Cailan's adventure begins. His previous life is turned completely upside down. The universe challenges him as he transcends the dimensions of life and finds his true love in a star princess in a distant, faraway world.

The hotel still had antique elevators, very different from the antigravity tube elevators used today. It had an antique gable roof, a roof shape common on Earth, but not on Mars. Here, almost all building complexes had flat roofs; public buildings had platform roofs. The hotel was very large, even for Martian architecture. Furthermore, it didn't have a star-shaped structure prevalent here, but rather an elongated L-shape with only 13 floors. It was said to be the first hotel on Mars, built directly after terraforming.
Curiously, the elevator control panel consisted of fourteen buttons. However, the 14th switch was inactive. Generally.

From the author of The Forever War comes the Worlds trilogy finale: the last of humanity faces extinction on a doomed voyage to a new home in the stars.

The Earth is no more, an uninhabitable shell following the one-day war that obliterated the population. In the decades that followed, the surviving Worlds orbiting the dead planet have become the last refuge of humankind. With the discovery of a possibly habitable planet in a distant star system, ten thousand brave colonists are preparing to depart from New New York aboard the interstellar vessel Newhome. Among them is Marianne O'Hara, who will ultimately control the fate of what remains of the human race.

The momentous voyage is plagued from the start by ignorance and sabotage, and by the dark tenets of a nihilistic religion dedicated to ultimate destruction. But despite the many trials and tragedies, the spacefarers—and particularly Marianne and her loved ones—will be forced to endure. There is no turning back once the journey begins . . . for soon there will be nowhere left to return to.

Camp Phoenix is a controversial and expensive summer camp program that transfers adults' consciousness into a clone of their childhood selves. On the surface, it's an ordinary summer camp. Twelve-year-old Logan has come to have a relaxing, carefree summer. She wants to ride horses, make new friends, and she loves listening to ghost stories. Sam is a twenty-year-old counselor, taking on the responsibility of the kids' care by day, and riding the rollercoaster of a summer romance after hours.

As Logan faces the ups and downs of puberty, Sam watches over her and struggles with the bizarre truth: the campers in her care are not kids at all, but wealthy adults immersed in the ultimate escape from reality.

What Logan doesn't know—or at least, can't remember—is that she and her friends will all have to return to their grownup bodies once the summer is over. Logan will again be a successful, middle-aged woman, and the popular boy she has a crush on? He will return to his life as a celebrity suspect at the center of a high-profile murder case.

Three Science Fiction stories by the great Gerald Vance that will entertain and amuse you:
1 - Monsoons of Death is a very nice blend of horror story and a study of true bravery on the planet Mars. A newly commissioned lieutenant finds out a lot about both!
2 - In Larson's Luck, Vance takes us on a light hearted jaunt into hot shot space ship pilots, piracy and the good part of breaking the rules.
3 - Vital Ingredient, takes the listener far into the future when the sport of boxing still has two musceled opponents battling it out in a ring, but they are simply puppets, every muscle, feint and jab controlled by ring side 'managers'; ex fighters who have moved up. The story asks the question: is this how champions are made? and answers it of course in a most satisfying manner.
