The Skull by Philip K. Dick - Conger agreed to kill a stranger he had never seen. But he would make no mistakes because he had the stranger's skull under his arm.
"WHAT is this opportunity?" Conger asked. "Go on. I'm interested."
The room was silent; all faces were fixed on Conger—still in the drab prison uniform. The Speaker leaned forward slowly.
"Before you went to prison your trading business was paying well—all illegal—all very profitable. Now you have nothing, except the prospect of another six years in a cell."
    Conger scowled.
"There is a certain situation, very important to this Council, that requires your peculiar abilities. Also, it is a situation you might find interesting. You were a hunter, were you not? You've done a great deal of trapping, hiding in the bushes, waiting at night for the game? I imagine hunting must be a source of satisfaction to you, the chase, the stalking—"
Conger sighed. His lips twisted. "All right," he said. "Leave that out. Get to the point. Who do you want me to kill?"
The Speaker smiled. "All in proper sequence," he said softly.

Within the labyrinth of shattered prisms in Prismforge, where mage heirs awaken arcane powers from crystal spires and arcane citadels rise from chaos of refracted light, heir Aria awakens with a cadre of prism-bound apprentices, their citadel threatened by chaos that scatters spells in shattered beams. The spires, awakened in prism vows and command-kissed facets, reassemble the arcane—or dissolve it in prismatic voids. As they traverse spire-laced mazes and citadel-bound refractions, awakened by chaos weavers and prism rivals, Aria's heir magic fuses with apprentices' bound light, unveiling a prismforge legend of crystal rise. When a fractured prism summons light devouring shades, they must awaken the spires to refract the chaos. In the crystals of arcane spires, where every facet bends the spell and every command focuses the beam, their epic awakening becomes the citadel that illuminates the labyrinth's heart.

    THE GALACTIC FEDERATION OF LIGHT
Book 3 of 6 The Shattered Prophecy
This is the third book in the series and the plot is as follows:
Five years after defeating the Void King, the fragile Galactic Federation of Light discovers an ancient prophecy in the ruins of Kareth-Vor—the "Shattering," a dimensional collapse unleashing unspeakable horrors. The key lies in the Heart of the First Ones, an artifact buried on the ice planet Morvain-7.
The Zorathians want to weaponize it, the Elurians to destroy it, and the fanatical Cult of the Void seeks to use it to resurrect their dark god. A Federation task force races to secure the Heart, but the Cult ambushes them in the tomb. The Veiled Prophet, their leader, activates the artifact—only to reveal a terrifying truth:
The Heart is a beacon for the First Ones, the galaxy’s ancient creators, who observe from beyond the rift. Their judgment looms—not as allies, but as cold arbiters of civilization’s fate.
The Federation survives the battle, but now faces an existential question: Can they prove their worth to the gods?
This is the third in a series of six audiobooks, the others will become available in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this first instalment, only $3!
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, a fast paced modern beat that gets you ready for the out of this world story. The closing music ends the tale on a dark foreboding beat anticipating the next instalment.
The story itself runs to about 15 minutes and is narrated in my own voice.

In Praise of Folly, also translated as The Praise of Folly, is an essay written in Latin in 1509 by Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam and first printed in June 1511. Inspired by previous works of the Italian humanist Faustino Perisauli De Triumpho Stultitiae, it is a satirical attack on superstitions, other traditions of European society and on the Western Church.Erasmus revised and extended his work, which was originally written in the space of a week while sojourning with Sir Thomas More at More's house in Bucklersbury in the City of London. The title Moriae Encomium had a punning second meaning as In Praise of More. In Praise of Folly is considered one of the most notable works of the Renaissance and played an important role in the beginnings of the Protestant Reformation.
