This route allowed the exchange of gold, ivory, ebony, and exotic animal products, which were crucial to the Egyptian economy and the creation of luxury goods. Additionally, maritime trade across the Red Sea connected Egypt to the Arabian Peninsula and even the distant lands of Punt, where incense, spices, and other valuable commodities were sourced.
