Sinossi

💍 "It is a truth universally acknowledged…" — and the most beloved love story ever told.

Pride and Prejudice is Jane Austen's enduring masterpiece—a dazzling blend of sharp wit, social commentary, and heartfelt romance. With unforgettable characters and a plot filled with misunderstandings, prideful mistakes, and emotional growth, this classic novel continues to enchant readers more than 200 years after its publication.

👒 Meet Elizabeth Bennet: fiercely intelligent, fiercely independent.
When she first crosses paths with the proud Mr. Darcy, sparks fly—but not the good kind. Yet as their worlds continue to collide, both begin to see beyond first impressions. In a society governed by class and custom, can love triumph over pride and prejudice?

💞 A novel of manners, mischief, and meaningful transformation.
From witty banter to poignant revelations, Austen crafts a story that's as emotionally resonant today as it was in the Regency era. Whether it's your first read or your fiftieth, Pride and Prejudice never loses its charm—or its power.

This collection of poems begins in the growing darkness of November, stretches through Advent and the seasons leading to Easter and to Pentecost, and ends in the budding light of the Scottish Orkney Islands, where the canonical hours measure time over centuries and where God broods over an austere and beautiful landscape. The measurement of time passing and returning, year after year, in the rhythms of the seasons and of the liturgical year, create the pace and the song. But in the biblical voices of Magdalene, Mary, Abel, and Eve, and in the grim historical and political realities of war and suffering, one also hears lament and finds the poet' s clear-eyed gaze straight into life' s challenges. Memory is at work here, too, in personal reminiscences and in theological reflection. As one philosopher has said, " All truth is God' s truth."

From Shade to Shine is published under Paraclete Press's Iron Pen imprint. In the book of Job, a suffering man pours out his anguish to his Maker. From the depths of his pain, he reveals a trust in God's goodness that is stronger than his despair, giving humanity some of the most beautiful and poetic verses of all time. Paraclete's Iron Pen imprint is inspired by this spirit of unvarnished honesty and tenacious hope.

'People don't need scissors. They don't need beautiful, handcrafted, ninety pound scissors, however impressive they might be. But they do need somewhere to live.'
Faye and Mel have been together forever. Two kids, a mortgage and a diabetic hamster. A regular, unexceptional existence. They work hard, they get by, they do their best. So if it's true - if Faye's father really has left the factory to her - they'd deserve it, wouldn't they? The site could be worth a fortune - not for making scissors, but ripe for redevelopment. It could change everything. But first they need the paperwork.
Paper is a play about family, heritage and legacy, and is part of Chris Bush's triptych of plays about a Sheffield manufacturing family, Rock / Paper / Scissors. The three plays were first performed simultaneously with the same cast moving between three theatres in Sheffield – the Crucible, the Lyceum and the Studio – as part of Sheffield Theatres' fiftieth birthday celebrations in 2022.

Inventive poetry explores Jewish identity in America"How can I teach a prayer / I only know how to recite?" "America, whose death / didn't you come from?" These are some of the questions that poet Joshua Gottlieb-Miller wrestles with in his beautiful, gripping new collection. By turns experimental and documentary, Dybbuk Americana draws out the questions around Jewish identity in the United States, and what it means to pass on Jewish identity to one's child. This hybrid text draws on art, mysticism, and history, taking the dybbuk, a figure from Jewish folklore, as its central metaphor. A dybbuk is a restless spirit who inhabits another's body, and as a possessing spirit the dybbuk is often treated as a demonic force, but it can be read as merely trying to climb the ladder of the afterlife. In other words, a kind of striver. Enacting the idea of competing selves in one body, Dybbuk Americana plays with form via a series of text boxes that create a multi-channel effect on the page. The body of the poem can be read with surrounding and intercutting text boxes to generate multiple interpretations. This innovative poetic technique maintains a dialogue with Jewish literary lineages: Talmudic commentary and interpretation of the oral law, as well as the fragmented nature of geniza, a place where Jews store sacred documents when they fall out of use. Dybbuk Americana weaves together the father-son arc within a larger socio-political commentary and historical narrative. Poems move deftly between the ironic and the mystic, from aphoristic questioning and inventive narratives, to interview, oral history, and archival materials. In these lines, "the angels./ They get as close as they can." Witty, curious, warm, and searching, Dybbuk Americana signals a fresh voice in Jewish-American poetry.

'I think of my body sometimes like it's stubborn. We're not good friends. Like it's a spooky hotel, and I'm a ghost haunting it. 'Cause you don't live in a hotel, you just pass through.'

Religion once formed the rhythms and structures of society: marking time with calendars, carving out space for contemplation, creating connection, reinforcing legacy and morality. Now, for many, religion no longer runs the show. So where shall we find our magic? How do we celebrate milestones? Which texts can focus our attention but still offer space for inquiry, communion, and the chance to dwell for a dazzling instant in what can’t be said? The answer, Jennifer Michael Hecht?the historian, poet, and bestselling author of Doubt?tells us, is poetry. In twenty chapters built from years of questions and conversation with those looking for an authentic and meaningful life, Hecht offers ways to excavate the useful aspects of tradition and to replace what no longer feels true. Through cultures and poetic wisdom from around the world?Sappho, Rumi, Shakespeare, Issa, Tagore, Frost, Szymborska, Angelou, and others?she blends literary criticism with spiritual guidance rooted in the everyday. Linking our needs to particular poems, she helps us better understand those needs, ourselves, and poetry. Our capacity for wonder is one of the greatest joys of being human; The Wonder Paradox celebrates that instinct and that yearning. Like Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way and Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird, it promises to inspire generations.
