For her sixth birthday, animal-loving Alicia is given her first pet, a guinea pig she names Annie. But while Alicia is making a vegetable-fruit cake for Annie's birthday, Annie disappears. Where is she? Alicia can hear her younger brother and sister – the dynamic duo, Jackson and Jillian – arguing in the bathroom. AND, she hears squeaking. Will Alicia be able to avert a near-disaster and make sure Annie stays safe? "Alicia and Annie" is written for read-aloud and for early readers. A healthy recipe, and interactive questions to promote memory recall and emotional intelligence are included. ABOUT THE THREE BOOK SERIES: I was in my classroom when a student asked, “I wonder what my sister is doing right now?” The student’s question made me think about a child’s emerging concept of time: that of being aware of life happening elsewhere, outside of the child’s own experience. Each book in the Sapphire Family Series is told from a different point of view: that of the twins, in "Jackson and Jillian," their older sister, Alicia in "Alicia and Annie," and big brother, Mason in "Mason and Invincible Igor." All three books take place during the same period of time, early evening. Although the books can stand alone, read together they offer a three-dimensional exploration of sibling interactions and family dynamics. Reading a story from different points of view is a first step in thinking beyond oneself. My intention is that the Sapphire Family Series will offer children compelling characters with whom they can identify and grow, and present positive, realistic family dynamics that will delight them.

    YOUNG BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE
    PORT OF BRISTOL 1690
Book 2 of 6 – The treasure in the sandbox
In 1690 Bristol, young pirate captain Edward Teach and his crew—Israel, Benjamin, Charles, and Anne—dig for Captain Thorne’s fabled treasure in the lighthouse sandbox. Despite Anne’s dramatic false alarms, they unearth a tiny chest containing brass buttons, a broken compass, ancient shortbread, and a cryptic note reading “Remember.” Old lighthouse keeper Pye reveals the chest was his grandson’s toy—but hints some items may be genuine artifacts. Though disappointed at first, Edward realizes the true treasure is the thrill of the hunt and proof of Thorne’s legend. The crew bonds over their discoveries, with Charles quietly noting the value of stories over gold. As twilight falls, they dream of future adventures, their spirits undampened by the modest haul. The tale blends humor and heart, showing how childhood imagination transforms ordinary finds into extraordinary treasures.
This is the second of six audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy this second instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, accordion, fiddle, harmonica and bango in a classical sea shanty jig. The closing music ends the tale on a similar jig and at about 2 minutes with the same musical instruments but more upbeat looking forward to the next episode.
The story itself runs to about 13 minutes is is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you and your family, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

Harvey is a blunt, methodical man who lives by calculation and certainty. When he meets Anna on Mars, he decides quickly that she will be his wife. He leaves just as abruptly, promising to return in ten months, already planning a future that extends far beyond ordinary expectations.
While Anna waits, Harvey pursues an extraordinary goal. He discovers and claims an overlooked planet, then begins reshaping it with precision, patience, and scientific insight. What he builds there is practical, profitable, and deeply unconventional.
Chicken Farm blends dry humor with big ideas about science, ownership, and unintended consequences. Ross Rocklynne turns simple decisions into sweeping outcomes, letting logic quietly carry the story forward.
Ross Rocklynne was known for thoughtful science fiction that balanced speculation with human behavior. His stories often explore how intelligence and planning can collide with emotional reality. Chicken Farm remains one of his most inventive and enduring works.
