Sinopsis

Across the rolling hills and rugged plains of southern Africa, two worlds collided in one of the most unforgettable conflicts of the 19th century. This gripping nonfiction book brings young readers face-to-face with the bravery, choices, and struggles of both the mighty Zulu nation and the powerful British Empire. Packed with real stories and vivid details, it shows how ordinary people became heroes, how leaders made impossible decisions, and how a proud kingdom stood up to one of the strongest armies in the world.Kids will discover why the Zulu fought so fiercely to defend their land, how British soldiers risked everything thousands of miles from home, and what life was really like for families caught in the middle. They’ll meet legendary figures like Shaka, Cetshwayo, and the defenders of Rorke’s Drift, while also learning about the farmers, chieftains, and children who lived through the war.Through easy-to-understand language and a conversational tone, this book explores big ideas like respect, courage, and the true cost of conflict. It also shows how the Zulu people’s culture survived and thrived, and why their story still matters today. Perfect for curious readers who love true tales of history, heroes, and hard choices.

Dedicated to the glaciers, streams, and wild places that sustain us all.
    Location: Rocky Mountains, USA
High above the clouds, where the air is crisp and the world feels endless, two best friends—Kiko the pika and Miri the marmot—welcome the magic of spring. Their mountain is alive with rushing streams, swaying wildflowers, and the hum of creatures big and small. It has always been their playground, their home.
But this spring feels different. The streams are quieter. The glacier is shrinking. Something is changing.
Determined to understand what’s happening, Kiko and Miri set off on a journey to the mountain’s heart—the great glacier itself. Along the way, they meet a wise eagle, who shares a truth they never expected: the mountain’s strength isn’t just in the ice and rock—it’s in the creatures that call it home.
Now, Kiko and Miri must find a way to bring the mountain back to life. But how can two small friends make a difference in something so vast?
The answer may be closer than they think. And the mountain is listening.

Nicodemus, a Pharisee and a member of the Jewish ruling council (Sanhedrin), comes to Jesus at night. The time of his visit is significant—it could suggest either his desire for privacy due to his social status or his willingness to seek out the truth away from the public eye.
"Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, ‘Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.’"
Jesus immediately begins to enlighten Nicodemus' understanding of spiritual rebirth. Jesus speaks of being "born again" or "born from above," a concept that confuses Nicodemus. Jesus explains that this rebirth is not physical but spiritual—through the Holy Spirit.
Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit."
Nicodemus continues to be perplexed, asking how these things can be. Jesus responds by revealing that knowledge of these spiritual truths should be accessible to one like Nicodemus, a teacher of Israel. He then moves on to talk about the importance of faith in the Son of Man and references the story of Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness as a foreshadowing of His own crucifixion.
Jesus famously declares God's love for the world, stating that God sent His Son not to condemn the world, but to save it. John 3:16 is one of the most quoted verses in Christianity, encapsulating the Gospel message of salvation through faith in Christ. Jesus also explains that light has come into the world, but many prefer darkness because their deeds are evil.
