When we graduated from college, my friends and I made a pact that we would only play Truth or Tequila five more times—at each of our bachelorette parties. Tonight's number four and it couldn't come at a worse time. I have a meeting with a new client tomorrow. I can't be hungover. I'm already at a disadvantage with the client. I'm not much of a sports fan. I don't even know who the players are, but I guess I'll worry about that tomorrow. Tonight, it seems that, once again, I'm destined for tequila and bad decisions.

Don't get me wrong, I like being a professional athlete. I just wish it didn't come with so much fame. All eyes are on me as I walk into the bar—except for one pair. And they're attached to a gorgeous woman. I don't think she has any idea who I am. I spend most of the night trying to figure out how to talk to her when suddenly she lands in my lap. She's playing a drinking game with her friends and has to get me to kiss her to win. I want to kiss her but not when she's this flat-out drunk. I'd at least like her to remember our first kiss.

I can’t figure out why I’m so intrigued by Ollie Gibson.
He’s nothing like me—soft where my world is hard, sweet and kind while I’ve grown up around violence.
But there’s a fire to him that sparks the one inside me, loyalty that calls to me, and bravery I respect even if it gets him in trouble.
When Ollie’s hurt and we don’t know if the men who attacked him will come back for more, I can’t stop myself from claiming him. There’s nothing I won’t do to protect him, even go behind his back for vengeance.
I crave him—both the sweetness and the fire, the innocence and the dirty boy he turns into under my touch.
I’ll kill for him, turn my world upside down for him, share my pain and secrets with him. Ollie helps me deal with it all—even the drama with my father.
It’s supposed to be temporary. I’m not supposed to want more, but I’m determined to keep him, and for a reason I can’t understand, Ollie wants me too.
The future lawyer and the criminal. The Good Samaritan and the killer. We’re living between two worlds, this place where vengeance can be sweet and our differences don’t matter. But we both know it can’t go on like this forever. If the violence of my world doesn’t tear us apart, one day Ollie will walk away…and I don’t know how to let myself lose him.
Content Warning: Sweet Vengeance contains discussions and grief over the loss of a parent, violence, darker themes, drug use, and morally gray characters with no redemption arc. This is still a Riley Hart romance though, so you can expect a happily ever after for our guys. Please see the note in the beginning of the book for a more detailed content warning.

In 1866, only men uprooted by war had reason to ride into Tubacca, Arizona, a nondescript town as shattered and anonymous as the veterans drifting through it. So when Drew Rennie, newly discharged from Forrest’s Confederate scouts, arrived leading everything he owned behind him-his thoroughbred stud Shiloh, a mare about to foal, and a mule-he knew his business would not be questioned. To anyone in Tubacca there could be only one extraordinary thing about Drew, and that he could not reveal: his name, Rennie.Drew had come west from Kentucky to find a father he had thought dead until the year before. Kinship with a man like Hunt Rennie, however-the legendary Don Cazar, owner of a matchless range and prize stallions-was not a claim to be made quickly or lightly. Posing as Drew Kirby the young veteran contrived to get himself and his friend Anse hired as corral hands at Rennie’s Range, but he was hardly prepared for the suspicion and danger which stood between him and his father. As hotheaded as his father, Drew was ready to move on to California-until the day all proof of his Rennie name was stolen from him, and his unwarranted arrest for horse-thieving brought on the accusations of the one man whose trust he needed.Andre Norton’s _Ride Proud, Rebel!_ dramatically portrayed the last year of the Confederacy, when brave men like Drew Rennie met defeat with honor. In this sequel, Drew’s struggle to establish his identity and begin life anew in a raw, unsettled land reflects the courage of thousands of rootless men set adrift by the Civil War. - Summary by Front Dust Jacket

I ran into my childhood crush after twelve years… and of course, he’s now my next-door neighbor.
Let me just say this upfront: I have zero plans to fall for Ian Kendrick. Not after my recent breakup. Not with all the embarrassing memories I’m sure he still has of me from when we were kids. And definitely not while we’re living a few feet apart because if it doesn’t work out, things will get super awkward.
But Ian had to go and grow up into the kind of guy who builds things with his hands, dotes on his sweet grandma, and flashes that smile like it doesn’t make my knees weak. (It totally does.)
So I do what any rational, emotionally vulnerable woman would do: I make a list. A very detailed, very practical list of how to not fall for the guy next door.
Because falling for him? That would be a disaster... right?
If you love laugh-out-loud moments, loads of chemistry, and feel-good happily ever afters, you’ll love How to Not Fall for the Guy Next Door.

Fifteen years before Sir Arthur Conan Doyle published A Study in Scarlet, Anna Katharine Green began writing The Leavenworth Case, inspiring the creation of detectives like Sherlock, Poirot, and Wimsey, as well as almost every device and convention we now recognize as standard in detective mystery fiction.
When her father's client is found murdered, Anna takes up the call to prove innocent the young girl accused of the murder. The investigation inspires many of the events, characters, and descriptions that would later be published in her debut novel.
A love letter to mystery and writing itself, A Deed of Dreadful Note is an homage and reintroduction to an author who was the Agatha Christie of her time but a forgotten female today.
This book is a fictionalized account of how Anna Katharine Green’s first novel may have come to be…
A Deed of Dreadful Note is Book One in the Anna Katharine Green Mysteries, the only historical fiction series featuring the Mother of Detective Fiction.
