Summary

When you are on the path of weight loss and lifestyle management, you tend to grab every bit of advice that comes to you from different quarters. It is extremely depressing to find that you do not fit into your favorite dress anymore; you cannot run with your energetic toddler as much as you desire and completely give up on your favorite dessert. As a remedy, you start to run, walk or exercise or do any form of physical activity. But, along with your regular exercise regimen, you also need to do find a well-balanced diet plan.

Have you heard about the 'Forks over Knives' revolution? This helps weight loss enthusiasts to embark on a plant-based diet; the aim is to promote good health and reduce lifestyle diseases stemming from processed foods and animal products. The best thing about a plant-based diet, as I have experienced myself and heard from many of my peers is that after a few days once you have lost some weight, you will feel extremely energetic. This whole-food diet is centered on the fact that you should include only whole, unrefined or at best minimally-refined food grains in your diet to receive optimal benefits.

But what if you want to have more plant-based meals but not make a complete switch? I agree that it can be a tad difficult for a meat lover to give up on their favorite dishes in one day. But, the best thing about plant-based meals is that you can initially begin with two or three meals a day and then make the final transition. Every step you take will bring you closer to your weight management goal. This book will introduce you to some easy-to-cook simple recipes which can be used in your plant-based diet.

I thank you earnestly for taking some time to go through this book. I am sure you will find what you are looking for! It is good to remember that there is no instant gratification when it comes to weight management. We take small steps towards our goal. Let us begin this journey towards good health and weight loss with a few simple tips and guidance from this book.

Two's Company is a book with a positive message that cooking for two is exciting, fun and worthwhile. More than that – free from the demands of family or guests, liberated from a strict timetable, you can follow your mood, whether you fancy something homey, a fake-away or a creative culinary adventure. There is a major gap in the market for a mainstream cookbook for two, providing inspiration for couples, friends and flat-sharers who enjoy cooking and eating at home. Most of those cooking for two are forced either to scale down recipes or repeatedly contend with a fridge full of leftovers. Supermarkets have identified this trend, and provide a lavish choice of ready meals aimed at twosomes. But there is still a lack of inspiration for those of us who want to cook something fresh from scratch for a partner or friend. Here Orlando Murrin not only brings you original recipes but sets out the different 'rules' to consider when cooking for two. He suggests ways to shop sensibly to minimize waste and shares ingenious tips for shortcuts and techniques, gleaned from working with professional chefs and food stylists.
